@Leviathan102, As much as I would love to run Grove of the Burnwillows, I can't afford the steep price of $60 a piece, especially being that that's 3/4 of my original $80 budget for this deck, excluding the price of staples like Path to Exile which I've been picking up at July 2015's FNM's :D. Thanks for the appraisal, and the great ideas; I hate to spoil the fun with my tight pockets. It would be fun afterall to see some G/R splashed in here via Grove of the Burnwillows...

@HydreigonMuppetMaster, I have looked at Last Breath and have considered it, but when it comes down right to it I'm just not really scared of anything with power 2 or less, especially when I have a Silent Arbiter, Wall of Shards, or Alms Beast (:D) to hide behind. It's not that dealing 4 to my opponent while nabbing a creature isn't a bad deal for 2, but it's a bit best case mentality for me as half the time you won't have Tainted Remedy out at a time this spell would be relevant. And if my opponent is going to gain life, I would much rather have it be via a Wall of Shards where there's some promise of it later taking off the life faster than it put it on them with a later Tainted Remedy. I don't know... maybe I'm the crazy one here, but I just don't see a lot of value coming out of the card... although it does fuOMG)k up Splinter Twin quite a bit :3. Thanks for the great ideas; I'm probably being a bit too critical. Afterall; the very spell I'm saying isn't all that great does completely fuOh My...k 2/3rds of the very cards I said outperformed it (Wall of Shards and Silent Arbiter). Once again thanks a lot for the support :).

As for the Alms Beast, he wasn't originally my idea as there were a couple people already blowing around Ideas by the time I got to the combo. I was a little late to consider myself one of the very first people to drool over a Tainted Remedy deck as this article was already online by the time I got to it. As for Alms Beast, I'm not really sure who originally suggested it, but I can't wait to show modern Siege Rhino's little (well, power and toughness wise, big. Also, Alms Beast came first... so yes. Siege Rhino's big) brother. Only Alms Beast isn't actually a Rhino, so lets go with Older Adopted Step Brother. Yes, I will show modern Siege Rhino's older adopted step brother... and It's Alms Beast...and...

...yeah...I'm a bit of an idiot.

Wow... that's a bigger wall of text than I originally thought it was...

I see pretty dangerous to base your deck upon a single card. You may not draw it or have it countered or destroyed. In that case Extirpate or Surgical Extraction can make you lose automatically.

As true as that may be, the Vizkopa Guildmage can act as an alternative win condition; I can target myself with life gain spells and use her to whittle down my opponents hp at the same time.

You should definitely have some enchantment and artifact removal sideboarded. As of right now you have a singleton oring to deal with enemy leyline of sanctities.

Good Idea ojmandias. I'll side board 2 Sundering Growth.

Swords to Plowshares becomes absurdly powerful with remedy out (better than path to exile, I'd say). Also, if you could make room, 4 Life Bursts go a long way

Very nice deck! Wouldn't Last Breath be a good option?

Here's the other deck that I originally put Tainted Remedy into No heals for you! Although I'm definitely more of a casual player than anything wouldn't beacon be a replacement effect instead of actual life gain?

Could be interesting as BGW/Abzan for a few reasons:

1) You get Fog-esque cards for hyper-aggressive decks.

2) You get Heroes' Reunion, Siege Rhino and Feed the Pack (not to mention Voracious Wurm or whatever beater you like in B/G/W).

3) Put 2/3 of the spells I just mentioned on an Isochron Scepter for the hell of it.

4) Impending table-flip occurs

Nice deck! +1 :)

Orrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

Splash red for Deflecting Palm and a little burn. Could be something to look into there.

I made an Abzan Version here. There aren't any tutors for Tainted Remedy, but has plenty of midrange punching power.

If only... of course its value would skyrocket if it did. Maybe I should buy some now just in case...?

+1 just for name alone, concept is great.

Well, I'm finally convinced; Modern is a fast format with a lot of annoying little creatures that if left unchecked can really screw you up if you don't have an answer. Be it a tiny Tarmogoyf, pesky Snapcaster Mage, or even a Pestermite, Last Breath kills it with style. And while playing it before Tainted Remedy isn't optimal, it still gets their dude in the end. +1 main and +1 sideboard. Happy draining

@Kegrat

Swords to Plowshares is Legacy, else everyone would use it in Modern, as it is most of the time superior to Path to Exile.

too bad Swords to Plowshares isnt modern legal

Question: Does having two Tainted Remedys on the board make the opponent loses twice the life because of the two triggers or something?

Unfortunately no; I forgot the exact explanation, but they don't stack.
