wow, you've really covered every angle that I can see. Nice job man!

As far as your questions go, maybe move Silent Arbiter into your mainboard and Stoic Angel into your sideboard. Silent Arbiter being colourless will be easier to bring out early game. And maybe try lower your average CMD but i can't really advise in that department

+1 from me :)

Thank Cyrrus! Yeah, I might go with the Silent Arbiter , you make a good point :)!

Are you still going to include Geist of Saint Traft ?

Blazer4500 says... #4

i would drop the Skyward Eye Prophets for removal like Path to Exile

Maybe Gilded Lotus being colourless might help for those late game situations where you're missing a land colour on the battlefield.

Yeah, maybe Cyrrus, after looking around at some other decks, Geist of Saint Traft looks like a cool option, but I'm not too sure yet.

Thanks for the advice Blazer4500! Skyward Eye Prophets is rather expensive for what it does, I think it is a good idea to find something to replace it. When it comes to Path to Exile however, I am less inclined to add it just because it messes with my Ardent Plea 's effectiveness. Maybe I should remove Plea altogether, but I find Bant Charm and Detention Sphere are sufficient, albeit more mana heavy, control options. But I will definitely rethink the Prophets, thank you :)!

Just another thought; you already have Rafiq of the Many and Finest Hour so how about adding some Sovereigns of Lost Alara for a great combo? (of course you would need some auras for this to work)

And as far as 'The Great Weakness of Exalted' goes, try some Distortion Strike . It has a low mana cost and you can cast each individual card twice :)

Mayael's Aria is good, but that requires a splash of a fourth color in an already extremely specific mana heavy tri-color deck. Probably not worth the risk here.

One combo my cousin used all the time in her old exalted deck was tap-down effects with the Stoic Angel . And with cards like Downpour , Sleep , or Blustersquall lying around now it wouldn't be hard to abuse. And with Angelic Benediction from the recent stint of exalted... Gross combo! Just something to consider, and a lot of fun to watch it happen. Otherwise, great build! +1

Hey, thanks again for the advice Cyrrus and you too Xindlepete.

I don't think I will go for the Sovereigns of Lost Alara just because I don't run too many auras in my deck. But it is a good idea all the same, thanks!

As for the Stoic Angel and tapping combo: that's an awesome combo that I will definitely consider, thank you :)! And yeah, I agree about the Mayael's Aria , though I have been thinking about making a "power 5 or greater" Naya deck :P.

Xindlepete says... #11

Yeah, Stoic Angel + tapdown effects = DUMB!!! :P ESPECIALLY with Silent Arbiter too. Ugh. People would friggin' hate you man!

If you are considering swaps for it, I would recommend dropping the Offering to Asha for the Stoic Angel , as they are the same CMC and it appears to be the weakest link in the list (imo). And sticking with the exalted theme, Angelic Benediction could replace Wargate maybe? Or 2x Angelic Benediction and 2x Feeling of Dread for the 4x Wargate ? At least for the testing. And I'm glad you approve the idea! :D

Good idea! I'd certainly hate you for it :p
Maybe sideboard the taps for when you are up against creature heavy deck

Hmmm, yeah, good ideas guys! I'm having a play with the deck now to see how it feel. Trying a few different things out. Hopefully I'll come to a decision soon :).

Looks good!

I see why you wanted to max out Finest Hour but it is super expensive. Maybe too expensive to include 4x. An alternative would be to use 2x Finest Hour and then 2x of a selective draw mechanic then you can still have a good draw chance. You would also have more options if you were to draw the selective draw mechanic. You may even want to consider this for your other expensive cards so that you can fix your mana curve.

Xindlepete says... #16

Hey FortFade. Sorry I haven't checked on this deck in awhile. But if you do make that tap-down lock-out mechanic deck, send me a link! I'm interested to see what you can come up with. :D

May 19, 2013 4:50 p.m.

FortFade says... #17

Thanks Cyrrus! I will look into that :)! Although, with Noble Hierarch s for mana ramp, it doesn't tend to be too much of a problem.

Haha, that's quite alright Xindlepete :). For the most part, this deck is done (yaaaay :D)! Thank you (and you two too Cyrrus and Blazer4500) too for all your help hey :). I am always open to new suggestions but I think I am happy with this now :)!

And I reckon my next deck on here will have to be that tap-down lock-out deck. I will most certainly be giving you a link :D!

Hey FortFade,

well I would sugguest to swap out 2 Forest + 2Islands + 2 Plains to be even more flexible. There are some nice double lands. For mentioned Lands I would add

2 Hallowed Fountain 2 Temple Garden 2 Breeding Pool

actually you would gain some more flexibillity in your manapool

Hey there Dreathful. That is a stella idea... I think I will implement that immediately... Thank you :)!

after playtesting- this deck mulligans way too often for my taste. -1 rafiq and -1 pridemage and even the land out. love the shell however.

this deck can even benefit from more mana dorks/ tempo counter spells to hammer out those turn 4 wins. or even Sovereigns of Lost Alara + 1 Eldrazi Conscription for the win? lots of options here.

Cyrrus says... #21

That Sovereigns of Lost Alara + Eldrazi Conscription idea is awesome! I am heaps gonna build an Eldrazi deck!

Hey there GreekJustice and Cyrrus! Thanks so much for the great advice, and sorry for taking so long to get back to you two. I have been really busy of late but, more to the point, your advice has given me a lot to think about!

I definitely agree about evening out the lands - excessive mulligans have been a bit of a pesky problem in the past. I used Terramorphic Expanse and changed one of my Rogue's Passage s for another forest (considering that I have also added in Steel of the Godhead ).

As for mana dorks/tempo counter spells. If I had to choose one, then I would probably go with the mana dorks. I had a good look at a number of 3 CMC counter spells and decided to go with Bant Charm and Convolute ; I am seriously avoiding non-permanent spells below that CMC for the reliability of my Ardent Plea . So, with mana dorks, I think Birds of Paradise is the obvious choice, though I am not sure what to take out. Perhaps 1x Silent Arbiter and something else? Or maybe do my wallet a favour and replace my Elspeth, Knight-Errant ? As you can see, a lot of food for thought (I love it)!

As for the Sovereigns of Lost Alara + Eldrazi Conscription combo - I love it. However, after some deliberation, I have decided to not include it in this deck. While I think it is excellent in any and all W/U exalted decks, I think my deck already has too much going on for it now to add this extra component in. Furthermore, this deck doesn't contain a full range of auras to get the full effect of the Sovereigns. While I suppose it wouldn't really need to if I have even just one Conscription in there, it seems like such a pot luck chance of ever getting that combo off. Personally I would rather build another exalted deck that revolves around enchantments (ding! I think I have my next deck plans :P).

Overall, thanks for the ideas, they have been really helpful and given me heaps to think about. Cheers :D!

Knotvine Paladin ? For 2 mana and $0.50 it will double the effect of exalted.
