So, our plan here looks simple, but for every wrong move, you will be punished. But yes, you'll essentially counter, kill, beat face with delver, and delve for a big fish.

Overview Show

So, you've found grixis delver. This deck became a big thing with the banning of Treasure Cruise, and the reprinting of Onslaught fetches. This deck relies on low-cost, efficient spells to tempo your opponent and keep their bad things at bay. While this goes down, we play our creatures (we usually win with one), and usually win by a hair, but we know when we're going to win, because we're always ahead.Nobody really explained this to me when they said how good grixis delver it is. Your graveyard is an extension to your hand, and a mana source. Snapcaster Mage lets you play whatever you need to from your grave, and our delve creatures let us use the graveyard to put them out as early as turn 2 (Fetch, Thought Scour, land, Tasigur, the Golden Fang.Our mana curve is extremely low, meaning we have very little land. That's because we want room for more spells, and want to stay the aggressor, being sure to apply pressure with our creatures. Our sideboard choices are extremely important here.

Creatures Show

Gurmag Angler - You'll love this guy. Kills other Tasigur's, Siege Rhino, and usually kills Tarmogoyf. Puts them on a very short clock when nothing stands in it's way.

Tasigur, the Golden Fang - Another rad delve creature, and can come out turn 2. Bounces with rhino, loves to put them on a clock and keep the pressure high.

Young Pyromancer - Yes, dies to nearly everything in the format. But if he sticks around for more than a turn, he hurts. Turn 2, play him, then Gitaxian Probe. Fun stuff.

Delver of Secrets   - You play the deck for this guy. With 27 targets for him in the deck, he usually flips by turn three.

Cantrips Show

Gitaxian Probe - Gives you info for what you need to deal with. Keep your pen handy. Card draw is nice, works well with Young Pyromancer, and fuels delve.

Serum Visions - Not $10 for a one-drop joke. Fuels delve, gives you card draw, sets up your turns.

Thought Scour - Target yourself. Fuels delve hardcore for one blue. Use for turn 2 Tasigur.

Burn! Show

Electrolyze - When it works, it's awesome. Puts Lingering Souls in it's place. Gives you the card draw you'll want by turn 3-4.

Kolaghan's Command - So, this with snapcaster hurts people. I've made people deal with snapcaster 6 times in a game with this. Helps with affinity, and any other artifact in the world. Discard is nice as well. Bring back your delve creatures if they set rid of them.

Lightning Bolt - Best red spell in existence. Just play 4, and never side them out.

Counters Show

Mana Leak - My favorite counter in modern, personally. Stops a lot, and works against the good card decks like jund and abzan.

Remand - This is awful against anyone who delves for anything. Gives you info, and let's you set up a way to get rid of it. Plus, tempo plays are always nice.

Spell Snare - Okay, some look at this and scoff... Until I counter Scavenging Ooze , Snapcaster Mage, Voice of Resurgence, too many menfolk, and... it works.

Killspell Show

Terminate - 2 mana to make sure we get rid of anything. I'll take it.

Extra playset of everything Show

Snapcaster Mage - Best blue spell in modern. Synergy with Kolaghan's Command, flashes back anything we need at instant speed, and for some reason, it's a creature. I dunno. Guess it can block or something.

Sideboard choices Show

Bitterblossom - I like to bring this in against creature-based decks that are too fast for me to handle.

Dispel - I bring this in against the mirror, storm (and other combo decks), abzan company, and burn.

Dragon's Claw - In against burn. Be prepared to counter artifact hate.

Negate - Comes in against abzan company, the mirror... Essentially, the same as Dispel.

Rakdos Charm - I love this against twin, vengevine, living end, the mirror... Anything that utilizes the graveyard.

Rending Volley - Honestly, I use this against Celestial Colonnade.

Rough//Tumble - Soul sisters, tokens, elves... All that fun stuff.

Shatterstorm - Wanna feel like a god against affinity?

Spellskite - Against twin, hardcore removal decks, bogles, infect, affinity, burn... Best sideboard card in modern.
