Why Bant aggro? I looked at it as Green White aggro, with a splash of Blue for Simic Charm and sideboard options. Boros Reckoner looms over the field as a great way to slow down aggro strategies. I wanted something that could be aggressive and deal with Boros Reckoner without dealing damage to it. Mainboard, I can bounce it with Simic Charm and potentially exile it if it with a Selesnya Charm + Rancor combo if it doesnt get buffed by my opponent. Boros Charm and Frontline Medic are particularly fierce due to Indestructible. Bounce and exile dont care about Indestructible, and Predator Ooze can block indefinitely.
As for the manabase, my buddy had most of my Hinterland Harbors, so it isnt as ideal as it could have been. I opted for Arbor Elf over Avacyns Pilgrim so I could get GG easier for Strangleroot Geist and Predator Ooze, with a chance at WW.
I was excited to see how Experiment One handled. It can be an exceptionally aggressive and durable attacker if it can accrue enough counters. Strangleroot Geist is pressure, undying, and it can evolve Experiment One twice. Predator Ooze, Experiment One and Strangleroot Geist can stick through most board wipes, which is a feature I highly desired.
Loxodon Smiter and Silverblade Paladin are the workhorses of the deck. They can get the most done and fast.
Restoration Angel is one of the weaker cards. I have her in as a blocker against fliers, to save Silverblade Paladins from removal, and to potentially grow Experiment One faster. She can be particularly aggressive too, but shed feel more at home with decks that have more creatures with enter the battlefield effects.
Ive got eight sources for pump. I dreamed of all the potential scenarios where Rancor, Selesnya Charm and Simic Charm could sneak a high powered win in early.
I opted not to include Geist of Saint Traft due to local meta. A handful of people at my store are running Glaring Spotlight as a finisher for midrange/aggro.
