Bant Flicker Shenanigans

Commander / EDH

dirgy

Do you want all your friends to hate you? Well do I have the deck for you!

This deck has a focus on flickering (exiling permanents (mostly creatures) and bringing them back either instantly or at end of turn). There's a strong theme of control and shenanigans, preventing your opponents from playing things (both through countering or Venser, Shaper Savant), or really doing much else (Stonehorn Dignitary, Grand Abolisher). The commander, Roon of the Hidden Realm, allows for easily-accessible abuse of the EtB effects. He also pairs well with Perplexing Chimera, by taking control of your opponent's spells with Chimera, exiling it, and then returning it to your side at the end of the turn.

Wonderfully enough, you can also flicker opponent's creatures through Roon! And since their return goes on the stack at the beginning of the end step, you can use Roon of the Hidden Realm + Sundial of the Infinite to permanently exile their creatures.

Some key combos: Perplexing Chimera + Roon of the Hidden Realm , Deadeye Navigator + Venser, Shaper Savant , and Deadeye Navigator with pretty much any EtB effect.

There are cards like Ring of Three Wishes that, while good on their own, can be refreshed through Venser, the Sojourner to get as many tutors as necessary out of it.

The main thing I've found is that I try as hard as possible to keep Roon on the field as an enabler, and so cards like Gift of Immortality or Swiftfoot Boots are usually reserved to Roon.
