+1 on ur deck i like where it is going i think a card that would be amazing i mean lol fantastic if u worked in venser because u can bounce back the slimes or meta morphs or even ur titans... and ur ramping so tricolor is not hard to do especially with the way stranded is set up.

sorry not venser...mimic vat would be amazing as a 3 drop because if u catch a slime then u can flash it in and ruin peoples days with it

Thanks for comment and +1! Yes! I love the idea of Venser, the Sojourner ! I have thought about adding him. Have no idea how I would incorporate him. Fix mana base I guess with Sunpetal Grove or Glacial Fortress ? then just splash 2 of venser. Maybe 1 plains to fetch w primeval Titan or rampant growth. Let me know what you think!

Oh yeah! totally forgot about vat! I'll give it a shot. I still like the idea of using venser too thought. Always wanted to try him out.

honestly go with Sunpetal Grove and a Plains just in case they catch u with the nonbasic land cracker...but fortress would also work blue is the more dominant color by ur land ratio thus for so yea go with the fortress

i dont think u can go wrong with either honestly if replace ur Deceiver Exarch for the vat thats cool maybe just 2 vats and that leaves a slot open for a venser

I like Deceiver Exarch in this deck. Just saying.

right on. thanks. Just in playing seems like unless I drop him Turn 2 (opponent's turn) his land locking ability seems like a minor annoyance but not enough to severely prohibit play. What do you think? Maybe something i am not yet seeing.

It's not his land-locking ability that I like. I like that he taps down your opponents creatures for an unblockable Titan and that he makes 3/3 beasts harmless. He also untaps your creatures for a nice surprise. It's good if you can get him down turn 2 and lock your opponent for a turn, but he really shines as a response to a great deal of threats. If you add Mimic Vat , then he can get really annoying for your opponents.

Unless I'm missing something, how is Exarch a turn 2? I see no Birds of Paradise or the like for 3 mana turn two... and Birds are an awesome fit in almost any bant colored deck.

Yeah I removed the birds from decklist yesterday. Description reflects previous bird version. Not happy with the choice to remove birds. Went 2-3 tonite and and could have used em.

That's why you should have asked us before removing them, I would have said don't take them out :)

Haha yeah I suppose so.. I was so annoyed last night because I think mySide board is ok for WRR and solar flare but I didnt see either deck. I only played against tempered steel and humans! Too fast. My meta is dominated by those well played finely tuned yet somewhat unoriginal archetypes. That's ok, it's up to me to be prepared for it. So my question is I'm trying to think of answers to fast decks. Beast within was so-so. I would rather have more board wipe. I am splashing white so I could use doj. But it's fairly white intensive. What do people think? Help me make this deck more versatile!

You could add more white and throw in Sun Titan and Day of Judgment , since the titan can return Deceiver Exarch and Phantasmal Image . Of course, then you would add Oblivion Ring and it would be pretty solid in my opinion. Embrace the Bant.

The white anti agro solution for a long time is/was Blade Splicer . And he is an awesome Venser +2 target. And get them birds back in there! XD

Haha thanks! Ooh I like Blade Splicer with venser and even Sun Titan . I just got another venser so what u think 3x? Ok so: +4 birds, +1 Venser, the Sojourner , +2 Sun Titan , +2 Blade Splicer and say +3 Oblivion Ring ? how does that look? And what to swap. I think -2 Beast Within , maybe cut some rampant growth, hmmm aaannnnddd cut the rampant growth or maybe mana leaks? Those two cards compete for 2cmc utility. It's good flexibility to be able to chose ramp or counter but often one gets in the way of the other.
November 26, 2011 4:14 p.m.
If you're gonna go straight land-lock, leaks can go. And too many titans. 1 of each, maybe 2 of one of them. I'd do 1 Frost, 1 Primeval, 1 Sun to be honest. And a 4th acidic slime.
-2 Frost Titan, -1 Primeval, -4 Mana Leak+1 Sun Titan, +1 Acidic Slime, +1 Venser, +3 Blade Splicer, maybe put a 4th solemn or image mainboard. Probably image. The more copies of Acidic Slime, the better.

ok thanks for the input! I'm going to try suggestions. I might try to do 2x wurmcoil actually as well so i will cut down the titans to one of each.

You don't need Primeval Titan or Wurmcoil Engine , and you should keep the Mana Leak s. Run 2x Sun Titan and drop the Rampant Growth s. What you need to focus on is control, right now you're branching out too far. Here is what I would recommend from your current board:
-3 Frost Titan
for
+2 Sun Titan
And 2x Day of Judgment for the sideboard. This is taking it in a slightly different direction, but at the moment this is lacking direction. Feel free to take any or none of my suggestions.

Thanks for all the suggestions! So I have made some changes that reflect more control. Initial play testing reveals some more momentum early on, I may say almost explosive. There seem to be overall more options on turns 2 and 3. I have never been much of a control player. I lack patience mostly. But I like Bant so far because it does seem like less of a passive kind of control like Draw-go or UW and more like in your face tempo-control. I like it.
I was sad to remove my other titans and Karns. We will see how it performs w/o them. I MIGHT want them back at some point.

Ugh I really like the idea of Deceiver Exarch but I did find a slight problem with him. I can tap land on opponent's turn, but copying him with Phantasmal Image will only really help me on my next turn. This would help really only if there is concern for opposing instants or flash like manaleak or Snapcaster Mage . IDK exarch synergy seems slightly more narrow than I thought at first. Is there a better 3 drop that fits the theme here?
If anyone could offer feedback about its usefulness here that would be great.
