I think u need to add more of Plasm Capture , Render Silent , and Syncopate .

redben346, thanks for the advice. But I am trying to keep the deck creature low so I can have more control cards. So the creatures you are advising make sense in a more midranged or creature heavy deck. Ajani is not helpful because he can hardly hit any of the cards in my deck, and there are no creatures to put +1+1 counters on! I been looking into putting more of those Plasm Capture , Render Silent , and Syncopate . into the deck, but I cant figure out where? Any suggestions? Thanks and show your friends.

ceji3 what if they have no gods? I will keep it sideboard.

Im my opinion Dissolve tends to be more useful than Render Silent especially early game. I would also recommend adding another Plasm Capture to ensure hitting it, and would send the Syncopate to the sideboard, along with another 1x or 2x copies, it can be a great early game counter, but 1x just isn't enough I feel. Another couple suggestions, I would have 2x Selesnya Charm over 2x Advent of the Wurm simply because it is a more versatile card but can still get you a creature at instant speed (even though way smaller). 4x Supreme Verdict would be more effective, but I'm not sure you wanna lose the Divination without 4x Sphinx's Revelation maybe add Banishing Light to the sideboard and drop the Prognostic Sphinx . Another thing, you definitely wanna finish out the sideboard in a deck like this.
Of course these are all personal preference suggestions, and I am no expert (although I am pretty control based), but I do hope some of this is of some beneficial use.

I would love to talk to you about Improving a Bant control deck. I too run one and I've been playing around with it a little, feel free to check it out and leave some suggestions. Now your's looks like it needs to replace to 2 Divination with 2 more Supreme Verdict . lower yours creatures to the bare minimum, like AEtherling +Sylvan Caryatid , that's it. Throw in an additional Banishing Light too, for nice one spot removal without wasting a Detention Sphere on one thing then they play another the next turn.

i would cut Plasm Capture for more Dissolve or Advent of the Wurm , and maybe get another Elspeth, Sun's Champion .

Mana Confluence ? With Sphinx's Revelation you have more than enough lifegain to counterbalance the shock you'd take from it.

TheHroth, I have playtested this deck many times, but never have trouble with my manabase. Maybe im just lucky.
May 9, 2014 11:28 a.m.
I run a deck similar to this one, however, after much tested I found it best to just run a u/w control shell, and splash green for Kiora.

First. Why are you not running any of the new Ajani, Mentor of Heroes in the deck? He is a great search mechanism and with back up you could even get his ultimate (Never will happen However cuz people) and he will get you to your other planeswalkers and that swish AEtherling much sooner. Second. One Elspeth, Sun's Champion ?and only 2 searchy Jace, Architect of Thought ? i would suggest a second Elspeth in case of death and a least one more Jace. Third. Definitly run Deicide Main board. I know its pretty much ony usefull on gods but with all the enchantments in the cycle right now an instant speed Revoke Existence isnt bad to run. Last. Take out the Prophet of Kruphix They may seem good on paper but trust me, they don't really work out in actual play against opponents. Most times they die the turn they enter or the next one. Rarely they will live long enough to actually be useful more than they are a waste of a mainboard slot and mana that could otherwise be used to drop a Supreme Verdict or Detention Sphere .That is all, Love from a Bant Walkers deck owner and user.

In my opinion, Courser of Kruphix is going to be a lot better for you than Advent of the Wurm and Prophet of Kruphix . Advent will have its moments, but the card advantage, life-gain, and superb blocking ability of Courser to protect your walkers from fast decks will probably make it fit better into a control shell. Prophet isn't really all that playable in standard, I know it's good when you have counterspells and threats, but it is neither by itself, so it could be a Courser in my opinion. I might also cut the Elixir for a more proactive wincon, that's what BBD was going for when he first put Bant Walkers together, Elspeth and Kiora help you control the game, where as Elixir does not. Also, if you play Courser you get to play the Kiora/Courser combo, which gives you a lot of cards, a lot of lands, and a lot of life really fast. =)
Have you thought about making the Caryatids into something that helps you survive a little better and doesn't die to your own Verdicts? Last Breath for example, taking care of Mutavault , Voice of Resurgence (without a trigger!), Courser of Kruphix , Nightveil Specter , Gray Merchant of Asphodel , and a whole assortment of random creatures that an aggro deck would play. Or Banishing Light ! (but I wouldn't play too many of O-ring effects right now if I could avoid it, they get blown up by Abrupt Decay a lot more than they used to)

Thank you so much corythackston for your input. I understand most of your suggestions, but I have been testing this deck a lot and Advent of the Wurm is just so good in my meta against gruul monsters and other large creature decks. But you were right about elixer and prophet, so I dropped those for 3x courser. It has been helping me hit land drops, and honestly, most people don't even look at what card is on top. I love carytid so much because it helps with that rare mana deficit, and often lets me play my walkers even faster. I like your last breath suggestion, but I have no spot for it and my meta doesn't play mana small creatures that are worth blowing up. Thanks again for the advice and dont forget to +1!!!

Also, I might standardize your counterspell package. Dissolve and Syncopate are popular right now because they're the most efficient you can get without going into red for Counterflux . 4x Dissolve and 2x Syncopate should do it just fine, Plasm Capture is awkward and slow, and Scrying is probably better than keeping them from casting other spells 90% of the time. Also, I noticed you only have 2 Jaces, if you make the Caryatids into anything, it should be Jaces. Jace is a boss. Lol
May 20, 2014 3:37 p.m.
synocopate is not a good card late game, and you would be surprised how much butt plasm capture kicks. The mana that it produces is killer. I would run a forth dissolve instead of render silent, but it is so good against people that play little things first, expect it to be countered and then try to play something bigger.

Ah, okay. Sorry I didn't see you respond to my first one. Meta does indeed determine card choices! I play Plasm Capture in my BUG commander deck, I just think it's a little too slow for standard, you'd probably be better off countering things on turn 2 if you don't immediately have a Verdict or D-Sphere. Have fun!

That made me so frikkin mad. I hated that Prophet of Kruphix

Get some shocks for the deck if you can :)
The will go up after rotation because they are used in modern so its not a bad investment if you are willing to wait a little
May 25, 2014 2:30 p.m.
Yah, I will definitely pick them up if I can. DarkTetris. Do you like the deck besides that?
Thanks and +1!

Yes I really like the deck. I am running a very similar deck except it's more of a mid range variation. I also run 4 jace but I'm considering only running 3. Would you run more if you could?
The shocks are expensive running at $120 if you were to run all 12. They are well worth it though. I even run 1 Mana Confluence for the fixing. I'm not too sure how it is performing but I think 1 is ok.
Also how does your deck perform against RW burn or other very aggressive match ups. I tend to die very quickly or get to around 5 life and try to stablize. I'm about 1/5 against RW burn :P
+1

Courser of Kruphix , Sylvan Caryatid , and Syncopate work well against aggressive decks. Silence also works well in the side board, but r/w burn is not very relevant in my meta. So I haven't played at deck like that yet. Thanks for the +1!
