I'm glad you like it. Several years ago I used to play a more aggressive configuration of the deck that replaced Tree of Tales with Vault of Whispers and card:Gaea's Blessing with Cranial Plating , so I recommend also trying that out if you think it might be more your style.

Sounds like a fun add-on; I figure I need a Sidedeck anyway, so that's certainly a good option. Any other suggestions to that regard?

Broodstar used to be hard to get a hold of, but not anymore (I won't put him in my version because that would break the "only commons and uncommons" rule). My brother has an interesting affinity deck that also uses Lumengrid Sentinel to disrupt his opponent and get blockers out of the way. Back when I first built the deck, there was also a pack of Trinket Mage s who could fetch up tiny artifacts and lands to help keep me moving. Really, this deck can be customized to go in pretty much any direction you could imagine. In my opinion, Gatherer (http://gatherer.wizards.com) is the best resource for doing research and coming up with ideas.

I already saw the Broodstar ; it should make for a pretty powerful replacement of Qumulox . I rather like the Lumengrid Sentinel idea as well.
I'd already been looking at Gatherer (found Broodstar there too), and thought Erayo, Soratami Ascendant might be interesting, or since it's Sideboard, perhaps a few Flashfreeze s?

Sounds like a good choice. I don't use sideboards with my casual decks, so it's nothing I've ever really had to think about before with this one.

I think I'd replace Shrapnel Blast with Galvanic Blast or Fling these days though.

Shrapnel Blast is a classic, but in this modern age, I think you're right about Galvanic Blast . Making that replacement will also let me reevaluate and possibly update the card choices in the slots currently occupied by Myr Servitor and Chromatic Star . I'll definitely think about it.

thank you rhadamanthus for suggesting this deck to me.
this deck seems to be cheap, easy to play for a casual person like me & also it seems to me that it could be very powerfull.
+1

i purchased this deck and used in a few multi-player games and had the most fun i've had in years playing mtg.
this deck really dominated in two-headed giant when two other people played Howling Mine s. i was the only person that could dump my hand out fast enough to keep up.
just an awesomely fun, powerful & cheap deck.
this deck deserves a much higher rating than it's current '3'.
thx!

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I actually haven't played the deck in almost 2 years, and I kind of miss it, so I should probably pick it up the next time I get a chance to play some casual Magic.

i would switch out Myr Enforcer for Tangle Golem.
since i last posted here i've updated my version of this deck, deck:bralls-myr-blast-2hgdueling. affinity really has got to be the most fun deck to play.

I see by your list that you have the wrong understanding about how Tangle Golem works. It has Affinity for Forests, not Affinity for Artifacts. The card would be completely pointless in my deck, and it's already useless in yours. You probably want to edit that.

Like it says in the description, it's purposefully all commons and uncommons. Broodstar is off somewhere else, not being common or uncommon.

I love it; I'm actually going to buy me one of these, just for fun. :)
