So, since you only need 200 cards and not just land cards in your library, why don't you have more cards that help you look through your deck like Sensei's Divining Top

July 16, 2014 8:17 p.m.

Because that would make it too broken and it would be twice as banned from his FNM @Mordon327.

It is so easily destroyed in modern, I know of turn 2, turn 3 win decks that are much more consistent. But you could fix that by keeping deck size but replacing some of the islands with low cost counters or possibly walls that could hold off the opponent a little bit. My main suggestion would be something like Wall of Frost and Swan Song , Dissolve , Cancel , Dissipate , Deprive , etc... so you atleast can try to hold them off for a little bit. (play sets of each) you might also consider things that just scry through your deck like Halimar Depths , Augury Owl , Preordain , Ponder , and Soothsaying . Into the Roil might be nice to throw in as well.

What t2 or 3 win deck do you know of exactly rennb1024? Any deck like that would be far less consistent than this masterpiece.

See rennb1024, you're missing the point, and there are several major flaws in your logic. The main problem with your suggestions is that none of the cards are Storm Crow (Blessed be his name). Quite simply put the great lord needs no other assistance and any other cards simply take away from the consitency 222 islands brings.

While many other decks in modern are capable of fast combos, none are quite so powerful as simply resolving a Storm Crow ] (Blessed be his name). The clock that provides is incredible. The great thing is this deck can win on turn 5 20% of the time WITHOUT his lord all-mighty!

One only needs to look at the number of Pro Tours this deck has won to understand the power.

Terrible. If this is broken, then nobody at your FNM is playing anything more than 99999999999999999999 lands.

What do you mean "terrible"? I've never lost a match with this deck, and I know for certain that this has got top 8 at more than one pro tour under different pilots.

I've won my 3rd pro tour (I think , I've kind of lost count) with this deck. It's unbeatable @dqcoulter

Not to be that guy...but I think your math is wrong. You have a 1.7 percent chance of having battle of wits in your hand. Not 11.7.

lanimilbuS says... #18

Actually, you're description is off. It's more awesome than once though! If you don't mulligan, you're guaranteed to draw Battle of Wits by turn 220 (219 if you're on the draw!)! Not 221!

@makeshiftplayerHe most definitly is! This keeps consistency so that he can always play Storm Crow by turn two and a Battle of Wits by turn five, assuming that he doesn't draw all eight nonisland cards or that he doesn't draw seven nonisland cards and go first. On that note, have you considered lowering the amount of Storm Crow s or the number of Battle of Wins? Although it would hurt consistency, it would give you tech against the ever growing Waste Not + Resounding Scream decks, which always aim to draw a card or get a zombie. It would definitly surprise them to see an island discarded every time!

The problem is that this deck is designed to counter every other deck in the meta, not just that one deck. If I remove non-island cards, I find it less easy to beat Jund, which packs a lot of removal.
