The Night is calm. The trees surrounding the estate sway in the breeze, a soft drizzle echoing off the roof. Tonight is truly one of those serendipitous moments where all is truly right with the world. The Kotatsu is warm, the Tea is freshly brewed and you are at peace. You lift the tea to your mouth, gently blowing on it.Suddenly, a sharp pain in your back, forcing your whole body to tense up. The hair stands on the back of your neck. Someone is behind you. A hand takes you by the shoulder, another taking hold of your tea before you drop it. They lift your cup to your lips, giving you a taste of the divine blend the Magistrate had recommended on your last trip to the city. You are gently placed in a comfortable position, allowing you to watch the rain fall past, and a shadow slip back out onto the roof and into the night as the world fades to black.

So I wanted to make a Ninja deck because Ninja's, do I really need any more reason than that? I have this brainworm that makes me latch onto a theme or idea for a deck and forces me to make it before I can move on with my life, gripping me all the more with the advent of Spell Table and my friends getting back into Magic. I didn't bother to think of a wincon until I was adding the mana base after selecting all the cards in my original draft, but realized I should include some mill. I honestly just wanted to abuse ETB and Leaves the Battlefield effects to the delight of all, but that leaves a bit to be desired when it comes to actually winning the game. I could do it with commander damage via Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow, but we all want more excitement in our lives than getting unavoidably hit by someone's commander ten times.

Any suggestions are welcome, especially if they're just fun combos or convoluted plays that are just as entertaining to be the victim of as they are to pull off. I remembered the Cipher mechanic from RTR and thought it would be a fun addition only to be fairly disappointed with the number of cards that actually feature the mechanic, or that would be fun additions to commander. I didn't play for several years, my last Set being Amonkhet and my first one back being Kaldheim, so if I'm missing some absolute gold (that isn't prohibitively expensive, I really had to talk myself into Sakashima's Student for this) let me know!
