Casey4321. Thanks for the idea, but it's already been suggested. I've added a section in the description that addresses this.

if i were to make any more suggestions it would probably be to just go 4 of Victim of Night . Slip would only be really useful if they have indestructible things of their own, which i don't see happening a lot in modern. you could sideboard it if you wanted.

I'd microfinance some sort of backup plan in case I end up fighting a bunch of Zombies or something, but I do agree that Victim of Night is the better option here.

Um... not sure where microfinance came from. Stupid auto correct.

you could pack some board wipe like Damnation if you needed anti army stuff. that way your Voldemorts wouldn't die anyway.

I wish I could afford Damnation . It's pretty far out of my budget, though.

I think you should pick up some of the new $10-15 black fetches from khans, they help prevent floods, which this deck has a great capacity for (seeing as no manlands, land destruction). I understand why none of the special lands, heavy black restricting costs, but fetches could help to thin your deck while still meeting the required colors.
If you happen upon money, I recommend Dark Confidant (obviously) and Batterskull. Confidant helps w/ card advantage, and all of your cards have low costs so no high penalty.Batterskull fits the theme of smashing in with the Lich, and helps to mitigate life lost through dismember, sign in blood, vault skirge, and blood scrivener.
Also, if there are black/artifact hexproof cards (that grant Lich hexproof) I would recommend that; imagine getting blown out by a 2 CMC Celestial Purge after sinking 8 mana into equipping the Lich with your Soups.
tl:drDespite the budget (which I assumed from your comment about Damnation), I recommend black khans fetches and (if you get money) batterskull, then dark confidant.

Also, one more thing to consider: Nykthos may be more useful than you think; it's production of black mana may allow you to decrease the number of lands you have in the deck, freeing up more space for removal, mana sinks, whatever you want.(Sorry one more thing: coffers isn't modern legal. Only printed in Tempest.)

Ner57, let's go through a scenario. First turn, I play a swamp and some Equipment. Second turn, Swamp and a Blood Scrivener . Third turn (hopefully I haven't had Nykthos yet!) I Swamp and Lich. Nykthos takes away from my ideal curve. At this point, it produces a net gain of two mana, three from Lich and one from Blood Scrivener . Nykthos can't allow me to drop the number of lands I'm playing; if anything, I'd have to increase them so I can curve correctly.
