Made a new EDH variant to play with my friends. It's called, "Big Boss Commander":
Instead of Battle Royale multiplayer it is any (2) or more players versus (1) "Boss" opponent. Each player has their own Commander, card draw, mana pool, but they share Life and each turn/phase. The "Big Boss" player gets 2 different Commander cards, restricted to the same legendary creature or Planswalker, and (2) card draws & land drops per turn. After that the Big Boss Commander (BBC) player gets (+1) more card draw/land drop for each extra player BBC is matched-up against. BBC has no maximum hand size, as this rule hasn't proven to be an unfair advantage yet.
This is a first draft of my made-up variant and would I be interested in any suggestions you may have. I got the idea from seeing EDH decks using creatures with 'Partner' and Lazav being a fun card to shapeshift from any graveyard. I have thought of many other ways to play this where 2+ guys team up against one BBC, and even playing regular EDH with this 'Partner'-like ability as an option, but this way has been fun when only 3 out of our 4-man EDH group can get together.
I am a new player, so my inventory isn't that deep thus I haven't posted my current deck list, as it is still changing; with such a limited inventory I didn't feel my deck list would even be that good compared to the average veteran. I just wanted to post this idea here and see what feedback might pop up.
Thanks!
