Playstyle: Combat, commander damage

Commander abilities:

Whenever you cast a creature spell animar gets +1/+1, and each of these reduce grey mana cost on creature spells. This helps you cast big things on the board fast.

Animar also has protection from white and black, meaning it can't be target of those colors or those colors can't deal damage to animar even creatures of those colors and it can't bee blocked by those colors so it's not hard to get animar hit heavy commander damage.

Strategy/Goal:

  • Animar gives huge value from creature spells, you want keep your low cost creatures in hand until animar is on the board. Then you grow animar enough with small creatures to get those big creatures cost only 1-2 mana.

  • Focus on card draw since this deck will run out of juice quite fast

  • Keep your possible boardwipe protection up, since it will be slow to build up back, something like Ozolith helps on that a lot.

  • You want be combat aggressive, trample and haste gives your opponents really hard time. You can focus Animar on one player that can't block him to get 21 commander damage.

Endgame:

  • You should have a lot of big creatures on the board, if you combine that with Craterhoof Behemoth, Archetype of Imagination or Triumph of the Hordes, that wins you the game.

  • Animar is easy to get +infinite/+infinite with Ancestral Statue just bounce that back to your hand and repeat. Man-o'-War is also good on growing your animar fast.

  • There are few tutors, best on them being Prime Speaker Vannifar can tutor on board what ever creature you need to get that final push.
