This is the latest version of my Rafiq EDH deck. My local game store is starting a 1v1 EDH tournament that uses the french banlist and I am going to use Rafiq as my deck of choice. I edited the deck to take out the usual multiplayer staples such as Sol Ring and Sensei's Divining Top.

I have been working on reducing the average CMC of the deck to make it faster for 1v1 play but I still feel the deck might be too slow. I am new to duel commander so any advice is appreciated.

Goal of the deck:

It is a beat down deck with a heavy emphasis on strong equipment. Swords will always be a handful for your opponents and Umezawa's Jitte is ridiculous when equipped on a creature with double strike. Use Stoneforge Mystic, Enlightened Tutor, Steelshaper's Gift and Stonehewer Giant to tutor up those equipment.

There are also control options with a number of counter spells, spot removal and board wipes.

Another huge aspect of the deck is resiliency. There is a lot of creature recursion with Sun Titan, Sword of Light and Shadow, Eternal Witness, Reveillark and Karmic Guide. Sun Titan also returns about 75% of the permanents in the deck.
