I want to add in black removal, like Doom Blade or Hero's Downfall, but i can't decide what to take out. Some help with that would be really appreciated.
Im as sad, if not sadder, than everyone else (most everyone) that Archangel of Thune is leaving standard. The minute it was spoiled for M14 it was my favorite magic card. I immediately got 4 and made all sorts of good decks. Now though, its just 3 months left so i'm going to try and make the best W/B Archangel of Thune deck ever! (finally using all 4!) Now enough backstory, here is the battle plan:
This is really a midrange build, but it ttys to get damage out as early as possible. Turn 2 Ajani's Pridemate is nice, going into bigger creatures like Brimaz, King of Oreskos and Archangel. So really with this deck attack a lot, gain life, reanimate, make tokens, beat face with Archangel of Thune.
Christmas-Land Situation: Opening hand = 1 Ajani's Pridemate, 1 Caves of Koilos, 1 Brimaz, King of Oreskos, 1 Plains, 1 Temple of Silence, 1 Whip of Erebos, 1 Swamp.
T1: scry land into a Archangel of Thune and keep it there
T2: Caves of Koilos, Ajani's Pridemate
T3: Plains, Brimaz, King of Oreskos. Swing pridemate, they are at 18
T4: Swamp, whip. Swing Brimaz + pridemate, gain 6, they are at 12. Put 3 counters on pridemate.
T5: land, Archangel of Thune. Swing Brimaz + pridemate + token, gain 10, they are at 2. Put 4 counters on pridemate, then 4 on each creature you control because of archangel.
T6: Swing win.
Thats it, total domination of Christmas-land.
