I took out the plains so that I have enough mountains for Chained to the Rocks

Drop to 5x or 6x Mountain and add back 1x or 2x Plains you need the white mana source.

Otherwise you only have 7 White mana production which is going to result in very empty draws.

The other option would be remove Chained to the Rocks all together and replace with some other form of Exile/Burn/Control and simply run Tri, Scry and Pain lands.

I tried that with my BUG walkers build and it seems to be the only way to consistently hit the mana needed in the newer tri-color builds.

I have a strong feeling that basic lands will not be played much in the Khans block other then in Mono-Devotion decks which will of course still be a thing.

What do you think of -3 Chained to the Rocks +3 Banishing Light -3 Banishing Light sideboard and then put something in 3 sideboard

Then for land make it all pains/scrys/tri land

Yup that sounds solid.

Hard to know until all these things become real and solid playtesting can be done.

I'm surprised at no boardwipes like anger or end hostilities. I can see the chimera was a remnant of the izzet deck you had b4 but I think it's kinda lacking even more now. It's an interesting take though.

What do you think about if I end up adding quiet contemplation then add the thousand winds thing

sounds like you got a game plan against creature decks then. Seems quite good.

I want anger of gods main board but I'm not sure what to take out

the reason I'm not sure about storm breath is that it is 5 mana and if I want to monstrous it I would have to wait for turn 7 also it doesn't have trample so they can chump block and by turn 7 my chimera would be up at anywhere from 5-9 in power

If you are really wanting control I would remove these cards

Then add these cards

Now for a mana base you want something more along the lines of this

Land (26)

Mr_Miltank1 says... #17

Just noticed you don't have End Hostilities

To fit it in you should drop

With them dropped you can do a 3/4 split of Anger of the Gods and End Hostilities

September 23, 2014 7:04 p.m.

@Mr_Miltank 16 ETB tapped lands is too many.

GlistenerAgent not in this standard it's not

12 Scry Lands able to tap for either mana and set up your next draw is great and 4 Tri Lands help you mana fixing even more

Scry lands are very helpful and great cards

September 23, 2014 7:52 p.m.

I know, but I still feel that in a format where your wrath costs 5 mana already, making it cost 6 is just shooting yourself in the foot. I wouldn't play more than 8 scrylands in addition to four Mystic Monastery .

I do think your deck needs more than 22 lands. 25-27 seems much more stable.

Mr_Miltank1 says... #21

From testing with 12 scry and 4 monastery it works out great

Also Bnon you don't really want pain lands in a control deck maybe 2 pain lands but definitely not 6 of them

I changed it some based on the suggestions tell me what you think

September 24, 2014 9:44 p.m.

Mr_Miltank1 says... #24

If you will be going against competitive decks or wanting a competitive deck you will want to remove Spellheart Chimera

September 25, 2014 5:27 a.m.

xGhostx says... #25

Drop to 2x Spellheart Chimera and add the 2x Stormbreath Dragon
