Rending Volley (new DTK card) seems like a pretty straight upgrade for Roast, it kills rhino and most of the other creatures that you'd want to get rid of that your other burns can't take out, and it does it for instead of (plus it can hit dragons)

I think I will put it in the sideboard because it only hits white and blue creatures and it is 4 not 5 which can't kill Siege Rhino

Whoops, nvm entirely then, I misread it

It seems odd to not be playing nyx-fleece ram. I think of this card as a must. It's a 0/5 which means it safely blocks most things while gaining life for days. Also, Ojutai's command has synergy with it if your opponent kills the ram. Those are my quick two cents, but I do like the deck! I, also, am too cheap to change to esper, haha

Sorry I've been trying to make a modern deck so I haven't been checking this but I made some updates: -2 Narset -1 Ojutai +3 Myth Realized I really feel like Anticipate would be great but I don't know what to take out so advice on that would be nice

Ok SO I'm taking this to saturday standard at my lgs and I want to make sure its tip top I feel like I need Anticipate for early game deck fixing I'm thinking -1Jeskai Charm and a Anger of the Gods to the side for 2 Anticipate

I feel like Dissolve is really costly for it's effect and you can find better counters, and I'm concerned about your DTT not really having an engine early game to get where you need to be. Worst case scenario is you mulling to 6 or 5 with basics or taps and a couple DTT. I also really feel like this deck wants another copy of Roast. I'd tell you to run more Anticipate instead of something, but am unsure what to cut. Seems like a really mean deck to play against, though.

well I'm not sure what DDT but I do agree that I need to make it better in the early game but I'm not sure what to add do you think Wild Slash is good enough? I think Dissolve is actually pretty good but I do agree it is a bit pricy but its the best counter-any.

how are you finding the dragonlord over prognostic sphinx, in my time he just useless not being able to attack freely without sparing a conter spell and not being able to deal with strombreath dragon,

i believe having the distanful strokes in the main would be benificials for the DTK set

as always here my take on a jeskai control

keranos rage it has served me well in the past but doesn't account for your anticipate

Bnon says... #12

oh wow sorry I didn't see your comment earlier

I feel like Disdainful Stroke is too conditional to be in the main.

as for Dragonlord Ojutai over the Prognostic Sphinx I mostly did it because I get cards in hand instead of just scrying and I hit for more so I can close out the game quicker.

I have had a lot of trouble with Stormbreath Dragon because I need 2 Lightning Strike to be able to deal with it but I'm not sure what can deal with it.

thanks for the comment aldy I will check out your deck and again I'm sorry for not seeing your comment earlier

Just to point out, this isn't really a team america deck, that was a stupidly named BUG deck in modern or legacy, i can't remember. Yeah, just to point that out ;)

With the amazing Dragonlord Ojutai, have you thought about adding Silumgar's Scorn or Draconic Roar? You could also add Icefall Regent and then things would get crazy. I am a big fan of 4 Anticipate. Maybe add 2 more in for 1 Roast and 1 Banishing Light?

I don't think I play enough dragons to make those good I feel like I have enough ways to dig through my deck.

I may add Draconic Roar for Lightning Strike I'll have to test it

I will change the team america thing I thight it was for America colors

Perhaps Radiant Purge in the sideboard to deal with Siege Rhino or anything else that's multi-colored.

Surge of Righteousness can help with those early Goblin Rabblemasters or pretty much any creature in B/R aggro.

+1 btw, nice deck!

Sorry for the double post, but I forgot about Erase

Getting rid of Indestructible Gods is always nice, as well as Mastery of the Unseen.

Impact Tremors is becoming somewhat popular in token decks, that card can wreck you if it's played early and not dealt with.

Personally, i don't like radiant purge, but other than that, i think it is very good.

How is Narset, Transcendant working out for you? I'm kind of curious what Jace, the Living Guildpact would do in her place.

April 21, 2015 8:11 p.m.

Bnon says... #23

yeah I've been using Narset Transcendent for being able to dig through my deck I only used Jace, the Living Guildpact for his +1 and because I had a copy of him. but Narset Transcendent is a strict upgrade.

Hey I want to add more counter spells like Ojutai's Command or Negate

April 25, 2015 7:50 p.m.

Bolten711 says... #25

Negate is good to sideboard in against those heavy control matches, but I normally don't run them on mainboard.

I've found Ojutai's Command to be either good, or meh depending on the matchup. It's good against faster mid-range decks with a lot of creatures, but against pure agro you would rather have the lower mana cost alternative in Surge of Righteousness.
