I wouldn't say worse Urza. She can abuse Stax Pieces like Trinisphere, Winter Orb, Static Orb, Storage Matrix and also use Collector Ouphe, which is huge. The impulse-draw ability allows her to crack Goblin Recruiter piles for Conspicuous Snoop lines and being in RG means she has access to Dockside, Gamble, Jeskas Will, Creature Tutors, Dorks, etc.

I'd say she's completely her own thing and def cEDH viable. Expecting to see a lot of submissions for Meria, Jodah and Vohar to the DDB next cycle.

I doubt Trinisphere is good in those kinds of decks (I'm running a Galazeth Prismari deck), you can't make it only affect other people like Winter Orb or Static Orb

Nonary27 I've been running Urza for 3 years now and I maintain both the PolyKraken as well as the PowerScepter Primers on the DDB and I can say with certainty that Trinisphere one of if not the single best Stax Piece in that deck. You can basically stop almost all Storm / Breach decks. Oracle Consult now costs 6 instead of 3. People will need to always keep at least 3 mana open for interaction, which telegraphs it, you can ramp hard enough to win through it – Urza can go for Grim Monolith + Power Artifact OR have enough mana rocks to go for Scepter + Reversal without ever deactivating the Trinisphere / Meria can use Rocks + Dorks do win with a Conspicuous Snoop Pile without ever deactivating Trinisphere. You can also turn it off after you opponents have already spent their mana on interaction, which allows you to then use your cheap / free interaction, etc. etc.

Thanks, I did underestimate Trinisphere, how's Meria compare to Galazeth? Get around Collector Ouphe is great, how big downside is not being able to use artifact tokens

Nonary27 I can't tell, because Meria is very new and I have never played Galazeth or Meria myself. I'd say both have their upsides, but I think Meria giving you Ouphe, Snoop, Stax and allowing you to use the mana for everything is probably stronger.

Are the top tier decks only in the top tier because of combos or are they actually good without them as well?

Tae_Grixis those commanders are just incredibly good, but we look at the best deck(s) that can be built with these commanders, which obviously includes combos. If you want to play a comboless deck, these commanders will still be incredibly good, but you aren't using them to their fullest potential.

What would you rate Vohar, Vodalian Desecrator

Puzzle_Master12 Vohar is most likely the best Dimir Consult Commander ever printed. Anything from T1 - T3 probably.

I am guessing the partner commanders on the top of the list are being counted on their own, not as a partner but just to be sure, is that the case?

Tae_Grixis Commanders are viewed by themselves, but of course the partner ability is always considered. Tymna, Kraum and Thrasios are just so good on their own AND also have partner, which makes them absolute top tier.

Tura Kennerud, Skyknight Where does this fall? Seems about Mid power to me but with the colors maybe fringe high power?

@vasarto77: Yes Tura Kennerud, Skyknight looks like Mid Power to me. The Bird is a lot worse than Alela (lacking black) and the tokens are also just 1/1 soldiers. You can generate infinite tokens with the Isochron Scepter combo, but since you have to wait another turn to attack, it's a pretty weak outlet.

Sorry guys, but I have to announce that I'm going to stop updating the project indefinitey due to product fatigue. WotC have been printing so many legendary creatures lately, that it's just not fun to keep the project going anymore.

This tier list randomly popped in my mind as I was making my latest deck and got me curious where the commander would rank, but I see it is discontinued. While it is sad, it is perfectly understandable. In any case:

Ghyrson, Starn Kelemorph I feel like is easily B tier. Possibly even A tier. I play a lot of B tier commanders and so does my playgroup and Ghyrson out performs a lot of them. Mind you I didn’t build the deck competitively but there are a lot of competitive combos that work with the commander. It’s far from mid tier.
