About Beta Decks:

Beta Decks are a series of casual decks built to be played against each other by people who are new to Magic, have played a bit before, or just want to have fun at a kitchen table. It is not an "alpha deck" or one that has been Top 8 at FNM. All the decks are intended to be roughly balanced against one another. The term Beta also applies to the fact that these decks will be changed frequently.

I started by building themed decks for my girlfriend and I to play against each other when have some spare time. Now I'm hoping to provide an alternative to the Intro/Theme decks that WOTC is putting out. Please take a look and see if there are any improvements you would make to the deck. I'm always trying to balance them against one another so that there is a pretty even distribution of power.

Rules:

  1. Work in a theme
  2. No more than 3x play sets per deck
  3. No complex cards (Warp World)
  4. Budget decks: cost around $20
  5. At least one artifact and one enchantment

Deck redesigned.

The last deck was too all over the place. Red needs to represent its place as an aggressive deck instead of a combo style deck. I'm going for a aggro/midrange style here, with a lot of creatures that can beat early and the. Still have impact if the game goes late. Any suggestions are strongly encouraged!
