I'm thinking of cutting the Mesa Enchantress to only 2 copies. I really only need one at any given time and I'd hate to have two in my opening hand. Any suggestions?

perhaps an Auramancer to get enchants back or something similar. maybe a Felidar Sovereign or Serra Ascendant for win cons.

O i see you are trying to make it budget. mb. in that case perhaps a play-set of Soul Warden and Suture Priest and have a lot of creatures. Soulmender is cheap. and if you are going with enchantments, Ethereal Armor is pretty cluth especially with Gift of Orzhova . honestly though Spirit Mantle should probably be 3 or 4 of.

Felidar Sovereign would be awesome. Cool card. Too bad it's so expensive.

I'll definitely try out Suture Priest. Looks like a very cool anti tokens card that would go well against the red deck.

Kind of a "cracked open a deckbuilders kit and this is what I got" sort of deck? I've always loved those sort of enhanced limited experiences.

Ya, something along the lines of Duels of the Planeswalkers.

What about the Ajani's Sunstriker cheap card that also helps new players learn about other types of abilities besides flying. Or you know... Lifelink as an enchantment.

Otherwise... fun. We created pony deck to help teach our friends how to play. All of the most magical and frilly horses we could manage. It was absolutely silly. But it helped teach them the concepts, the board layout, etc. So much so now I think they play more than I do.... :)

I love this idea. I always have trouble when trying to teach people how to play MtG... this series of decks would be great. Do you have any plans of the other decks? Like, one of each color? So the person can feel the "flow" of the mana of each color!

I trained every one of my brothers in MtG on a simple goblin aggro deck, very similar to this idea. It had a few enchantments Claws of Valakut , some instants Lightning Bolt , and a lot of cheap goblins. Oh Raging Goblin , y u so mad?

Thanks for the responses guys! I was thinking about Lifelink or Spirit Loop , but I don't know I would take out.

Glad that people like it already. It's encouraging. I'm currently working on the red deck so head over and check it out! Beta Decks: Dragon's Song

As a teaching device Spirit Loop is a great card. Allows people to understand what terms mean such as hand, library, battlefield, graveyard, and exile as well as hinting that these can be exploited later on.

Journey to Nowhere is a straight up better Oblivion Ring .

Restoration angel is way too expensive for this deck. Journey to nowhere is awesome, but I like that oblivion ring can target non creature. I might swap them out for pacifism though. Thanks!
