Tyrannosary: Deflecting Palm was relevant way before the recent Eldrazi started happening. But I do agree with you about Path to Exile. I run both cards in my sideboard because they're both great. Deflecting Palm can be 2 or even 3 burn spells packed into one, but that depends on how greedy the opponent gets. Generally though, it works kind of like Lightning Helix. It saves you life that you would have lost and deals the damage to the opponent instead. I don't really have to say anything about Path to Exile. It speaks for itself.

I run 2 of each in my sideboard. Deflecting Palm I bring in against infect, boggles, grishoalbrand, sometimes affinity (depends on if I know the person's play style and the decklist), burn, zoo, eldrazi and there's probably some more depending on the situation.
Path is just good. Any deck with white in it should run it in their sideboard. It's relevant against just about any creature deck, which is most of the meta. it's just unrivalled removal for the stuff that you can bolt.

Bovine073- could you link me to the article you wrote? Im curious about everything you have to say about deflecting Palm. I have my own reason's for loving it, but I wanted to see if there's stuff I haven't thought of

Yeah I know it's awesome getting to use a Deflecting Palm on anyone running a deck that has huge creatures, but it's easier for me to stay on the aggressive with Path to Exile since it only costs one to cast which means I could use the extra red for a bolt or something like that. and then if I'm playing against something like infect, I won't be able to swap the damage to hit them, but I can still get them to dump their hand on their creature and then exile it. And then they Vines and you wish you would've Palmed instead. :/ But yeah I can understand the cost difference between the two cards and how you have other options by only spending one mana.

HSF117 good point I'll have to do some playtesting and see how it works out.

Tyrannosary: Honestly that's really the only thing that is useful. Yes it's really great to hear everyone's different opinions but until you playtest those opinions for yourself you can't know how well those opinions will work for you personally.

HSF117 I might actually take out the Searing Blaze and 1 Path to Exile for 2 Deflecting Palms I don't know if I'll make the change tonight though because I want to see how well it works against some of the other decks in my meta.

RedandBlueistheguu ok, but are you THE Trey? Also how much reanimator were you seeing? I haven't seen almost any in the past few MONTHS and just wanted to know if it was just my meta that hasn't been seeing it.

@Tyrannoasary I am Trey Faircoth lol. I only lost to Grizzelshoal. I played it twice in a row

I don't think Kor Firewalker in SB is good idea. is hard to get when you are trying to play mainly red spells.
I think replace with 1 Spirit Link (versatile answer for many matchups, including burn) and then 1 of something else.

Kor Firewalker is for the burn mirror, that way I don't take as much damage by burn spells. Getting double white isn't too hard especially with all the fetches. Since all my lands that produce white can also produce red I won't have any problems with needing red sources Clawed6

You only have two white sources, being two Sacred Foundry. If you fetch both of them, you are not only taking damage to bring into play untapped (which is not good for mirror) but you also then don't have green to play Wild Nacatl and Atarka's Command. I think there must be a better option.

Clawed6 I don't know, I've never had any problems with not finding colors I need. If I get out a Kor Firewalker during the mirror I basically win the game, even if I did take 2-6 damage to get him out right away.

Yeah the only match up Deflecting Palm becomes relevant is eldrazi and sometimes a few others such as affinity or abzan. With Path to Exile I can get rid of creatures that are also involved in combos. Bovine073
