Sideboard

Assemble the SUPER FRIENDS~!

Is this a Tier 1 deck? For the price you would hope so, but it isn't. This is however a very fun deck to pilot, that renders most of your opponent's removal pointless, and that can grab at least 3-1 at FNM consistently.

That said, here is the deck!

Tonight was a smaller show of people, but most of the regulars that I have played against before were there. The deck performed very well and almost wen 4-0.

FIRST MATCH: 2-0 against Dark Jeskai. I happened to to keep the board more controlled than he could, and ended up racing him both games. The player made a mistake in both games where he had the chance to kill one one of my Gideons, but held back for blockers, not sure how much that would have changed the outcome since I only left Gideon open to swing in for damage because I had a second one in hand.

SECOND MATCH: 2-1 against U/B Demonic Pact deck. First game I got hit by Duress and Transgress the Mind literally 4 turns in a row, and it completely stripped me of a GIdeon, Chandra, Ob Nix, and Treasure Cruise. That took out my threats and card advantage I had and he just controlled the board after that. Second game I curved very well and ended the game turn 6. Third game I am not exactly happy with this win, and we both thought it could go either way. What happened was my opponent was rushing a little bit, as we had something like 10 minutes left and he had picked "Draw 2" as his third choice, forgot to draw a card for his draw step, passed the turn, I +1 my flipped Jace, passed it back, and then he realize the mistake he had made, asked the judge how the situation should be handled and the judge told him that if he had remembered during his own turn or just after passing the turn he would have allowed it, but since 2 turns passed he couldn't let him draw the card, thus forcing him to lose to his own Demonic Pact. Lesson to learn here, DON'T RUSH or you end up making mistakes that make you lose the game.

THIRD MATCH: 1-2 against Abzan. I won first game with a very nice curve, and as typical Chandra + GIdeon took the win. Second game my opponent got a massively aggressive start, something I wasn't expecting by a mid-range geared Abzan, and mistakenly kept a hand that was lighter on removal expecting to go to the mid/late game. Third game was a bit of a back and forth; I eventually got down to 4 life and kept blocking his only attacker with a token from Gideon but after bricking into 5 lands and him dropping his own GIdeon the game ended there.

FOURTH MATCH: 2-0 against a W/R Ally deck. First game my opponent got blown out by 3 back to back Fiery Impulse and 2 Crackling Doom and just scooped once I dropped card:Chandra, Flame Caller. Second game he was able to get a few points of damage in, but Radiant Flames punished him pretty hard and I took the game back with Gideon.

I was happy with this FNM and had some pretty fun game. Will really miss the fetchlands :(
