hawk393 that's not a bad suggestion.

I was looking at Call the Gatewatch as well because it wouldn't be half bad to go turn 3 tutor, turn 4 Gideon; but I also had the same issue you are having at trying to figure out where it would go.

Everything just looks so "tight"... maybe one less Fiery Impulse and 1 less Treasure Cruise and adding in 2 Call the Gatewatch?

I'd either do what hawk393 said or, trade one of those cuts for dropping a Gideon, Ally of Zendikar, if only for the idea that you still have three technically legendary cards in the deck and 2 Call the Gatewatch sets your chances of getting one from 4 to 5.

or you can just do what hawk said and make that chance a 6. Plus two more chances to hit any other walker.

Take out Narset Transcendent and put the Sarkhan, the Dragonspeakerback in

Thanks for the comment Zidasar, but can I ask why you would suggest that change?

You have to change the Friends picture now to match your new walkers.

Yes I do TMBRLZ but I am so lazy lol

"So no one told you Magic was gonna be this way... tap tap tap tap"

In seriousness though, after watching my friend build a Tron Walkers deck for Modern and seeing this. I feel like I'm going to take my own shot at Standard superfriends (though all my attempts are usually bad). I'm thinking Bant with Oath of Nissa. Maybe Naya for aggressive value... Hmm...

"Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery".

Honestly naya has quite the potential, could always splash blue and it gives you a shot at Jace, Kiora, and rug Sarkhan.

So does Oath of Jace have a shot at coming in. The first part isnt great but the scry effect to basically start pulling your best cards at will with the scry at 3-5 per turn with all those friends out

A few people keep bringing up the Oath of Jace that I might just give it a shot, only issue I don't know what to replace.

On a different not I think I may replace Murderous Cut with Immolating Glare.

Any interest in a one-of Call the Gatewatch, Oath of Gideon to synergize with all your creature pumping, maybe 1x Oath of Chandra, and maybe one or two larger threats like Tasigur, the Golden Fang, Gurmag Angler, or Sphinx of the Final Word or something?

January 25, 2016 6:46 p.m.

Vakama thanks for the comment and suggestions!

Call the Gatewatch was already suggested to me, and I was thinking about it myself, as well as a couple of suggestions on how to incorporate it I just haven't updated the deck yet or gotten the cards :)

As far as the Oaths go I wanted to incorporate a couple of them, but while Gideon and Chandra's Oaths are cute, I think if anything I would include Jace's Oath instead for the Scry. The problem is the slots are so very tight in this deck I really don't think there is much worth removing. If I was to take out anything to try the Oaths it would have to be either Murderous Cut, even thought catch all removal is very nice, or Ojutai's Command which in all honesty didn't perform as well as I wanted it to, and it might actually just be what I remove for Call the Gatewatch.

Gurmag Angler is just a flat no. It does nothing for me in this deck.

Tasigur, the Golden Fang might be decent sideboard tech against control decks for more recursion, but I am not too fond of having too much Delve in the deck. Same goes for Sphinx of the Final Word it would be sideboard tech at best.

I appreciate the suggestions anyways! Keep them coming if you have more.

Hmm trying to think because I like this deck . . . looking at Ojutai's Command, mode 1 is basically blank, mode 3 is okay but meh for this deck because this isn't really a deck that runs counterspells, leaving drawing a card and gaining 4 life which are both very meh. It doesn't seem to me like it would be very good for this deck. I would consider running Call the Gatewatch as a one or two of, and another card that I almost forgot about (sorry if this is terrible, I don't play Standard and don't know if this card is good or not) is Ojutai Exemplars. Tons of options and a large threat. It does seem to me as an outsider that this deck is a little threat light, though I have no idea if that's true. Also not sure if Crackling Doom is good enough to be a four-of, though I'm probably misreading the Standard meta. Finally I feel like this deck would love some manlands, which are just so good to have that personally I would try to fit some in. Since the chart at the top shows that you have more than enough white sources, I'd consider replacing Mystic Monastery or more with Wandering Fumarole, or maybe Shambling Vent or Needle Spires.

January 25, 2016 9:30 p.m.

Vakama thanks again for the comment!

Ojutai Exemplars is definately an interesting creature but I am not sure how well it fits this deck.

As far as Crackling Doom goes: it's amazing. This card is one of the reasons I am running black instead of green. Crackling Doom is especially good against creatures with protection such as "Protection from X" or most of the Esper dragons that have some form of hexproof or another.

I wouldn't necessarily say it is light on threat, but I would also say it isn't heavy on it. All in all this plays similar to control decks. Look at decklists like Esper Dragons, they typically only have 7 dragons. What this deck does is rely, obviously, on walkers that either make tokens or turn into creatures to do the heavy lifting. This is great as it makes it resilient to most removal and board wipes.

You are right, the deck should have manlands, and another user also suggested I run at least one or two. The problem is I am not sure which lands to take out, I definitely do see Mystic Monastery as being able to be replaced by one.

Haha, no problem, I listen to everything written on my decks, whether I make the change or not is entirely up to ;)

Glad you like the deck :D

What about Oath of Gideon? Works well on curve and helps get you a few blockers. Also works decently well with most of your planeswalkers, and super well with Gideon, Ally of Zendikar, and lets you use Jace, Vryn's Prodigy  Flip's -3 twice in a row.

February 4, 2016 8:40 p.m.

The Oaths keep getting brought up over and over, I even wanted to include them myself at first but realize they are not actually all that great and have minor impact on the field.

The main problem I have with the oaths is that the only thing I have to cut is removal, which this deck needs. What would , LogicVoid, replace to make room for Oath of Gideon?
