Stompy is a time honored archetype that features the most efficient green beaters possible and pump spells. In Modern, there are many good options for us, many of which are great meta breakers. The deck is in line to end games T4-T5, which is the "norm" in modern for aggro.

The best part about stompy is its cheap and easy to play! Almost all of the cards used are relatively underplayed so your opponent will not expect them.

Creatures are chosen to either have a great effect, or be able to dodge most major modern removal, ie Electrolyze, Pillar of Flame, Forked Bolt.

3x Aspect of Hydra: Often more than a Giant Growth for just one mana! Use it to save your creature from a Lightning Bolt, or just deal 6 more damage. A strong choice because many of our creatures give good devotion.

4x Dryad Militant: A must have. Poops on Snapcaster Mage, Treasure Cruise and the like, and on top of that is a 2/1 for one.

4x Experiment One: A powerhouse. He grows with every creature and can regenerate. A possible 5/5 for one.

20x Forest: Gotta have em'.

4x Kalonian Tusker: Adds two devotion and is a 3/3, which dodges a lot of removal and is out of range of most of the 2/1 or 2/2 creatures in modern.

4x Leatherback Baloth: 3 mana for a 4/5 and 3 devotion. Just a beatstick, really. Most decks can't handle a guy this big, and he does better than a goyf does a lot of times.

2x Prey Upon: Our removal suite. Dirt cheap, and doesn't make you take damage like Dismember does.

4x Rancor: This is how we give our creatures evasion against token decks and chump blocks. One of the best cards in the deck. Bait your opponent with this, then when they go for the kill use Vines of Vastwood to beat face.

3x Scavenging Ooze: So good. Gains life, poops on graveyard decks and delve, and get bigger. He is a threat that demands an answer.

4x Strangleroot Geist: The premier T2 threat. Undying and haste with 2 devotion are the definition of value. Your opponent will waste removal on him or take some damage.

2x Thrun, the Last Troll: The finisher, closer, the winner. Almost impossible to kill, he ends game easily.

2x Treetop Village: Used to have another 3/3 body with trample, and your opponents usually forget about it until its too late.

4x Vines of Vastwood: Value town! A kicked vines will give you hexproof +4/+4 at instant speed! Great matchup with Rancor and goes nice on a Leatherback Baloth.
