Bloodshot Cyclops, Hydra Omnivore & especially Strionic Resonator would be good here.

I am not so sure about Bloodshot Cyclops, its good in response perhaps to spot removal or a board wipe but I dont see myself ever using it proactively, just reactively. Hydra Omnivore is a silly oversight, thank you for the recommendation, he is in the mail now :p. Strionic Resonator is a toss up, but i could see switching it with Mana Web. Thanks for the content!

hue hue hue why not Tsunami??
Dick move, right? But if you seriously want to win by hitting people with things, then you need to address the possibility of response.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean illum, I run plenty of anti counter mechanics, and Mistcutter Hydra is weak compared to other hydras like Hydra Omnivore Genesis Hydra and Khalni Hydra

Are you saying run more things to help my creatures deal damage to players? Thats what all the trample is for, like Kessig Wolf Run

No... I am saying destroy all chance of recovery before they are dead. If you get Tsunami to resolve, then that's game over for a mono-blue or even two color deck.
It's not that much more weak, especially when it can't be returned to hand or countered... That's the whole point. It's more flavor too, the point is to be anti-blue, right?

But i do run Tsunami I'm wondering what you are recommending for the deck? I have enough anti-counter mechanics and the only blue bounce spell that anyone in my play group uses consistently is cyclonic rift and they ALWAYS cast it overloaded so hydra is not protected from that.

carpecanum I see what you mean now with Bloodshot Cyclops with Xenagos you could just sac creatures after they attack for butt loads of damage and eliminate players that much more effectively. But i would be worried if I wasn't hitting my card draw/sensei top/sylvan library while saccing my big beaters.

Heuristically_Programmed The problem with Choke is that it targets islands specifically and not blue mana in general, this is why I run War's Toll and then my two island destroyers Boil and Tsunami though i will probably remove Monsoon since it doesnt work well with Price of Glory and War's Toll. Have you considered Ruric Thar, the Unbowed?
February 19, 2015 10:58 p.m.
SirDancelot says... #13
Ruric Thar is really for 40+ creature decks, I have so much anti control and non creature spells it would hurt me a lot. Making more updates soon though after some more playtests

Its really solid against blue, ive considered putting it in but for now my counter magic has been enough. Its another thing where I have to wait for more test games with this deck before I know if I need it or not. It would be a good swap for Elkin Lair but I'm pretty sure I'm replacing that with Champion of Lambholt. Again, playtests heh. Thanks for the content!

no prob, I play blue so I know most of the cards that make me cry, depending on your meta Storm Seeker may be good as well. Carpet of Flowers Magnetic Mountain Thelon's Curse Curse of Marit Lage.

You could just play things like City of Solitude and Leyline of Lifeforce if you really hate blue.
February 24, 2015 10:21 a.m.
SirDancelot says... #18
City of Solitude is for Ruric Thar, the Unbowed decks, Leyline of Lifeforce was in there but i realized its terrible for multiplayer. I only want my spells to be uncounterable and i want to be able to Guttural Response a Consecrated Sphinx or an Omniscience. The nice thing about Dosan the Falling Leaf is that you can chump block with him once you done getting Xenagos and your board enchantments out.
February 24, 2015 2:44 p.m.
You can't Guttural Response a Consecrated Sphinx nor an Omniscience, since neither one of those are instant spells.
You could, however, Pyroblast or Red Elemental Blast either of the two.

I can really see you hate blue!Blue players hate being Choked.
