"Nature is a wonderful engineer but it works far too slowly for my taste."
My Biochemistry and Molecular Biology major and Mathematics minor drove me to create this evolving clone of a beast. The star player that is both biochemical and mathematical is
Master Biomancer
. This is how this can get way out of hand: Strap up your boots. It's about to get wild.
Master Biomancer
: every creature that enters the battlefield after him gains an automatic +2/+2 counter (if he is not buffed). This is amazing as is but I will later explain why this is exponentially additive.
Progenitor Mimic: This is what fuels the evolution. Imagine copying
Master Biomancer
. That means that there is a Biomancer entering the battlefield every turn for FREE. His effect stacks too. First biomancer gives the copy +2/+2. The copy is now a 4/6. The second copy next turn will be a 8/10 (both effects apply). By the third copy it will be a 16/18 and so on and so on.
Garruk, Caller of Beasts allows you to keep the pressure up once your mana base is loaded. Draw cards and free creatures. Deal.
Kalonian Hydra
doubles everything. All of the creatures out will have counters on them by the time you get him out. Boom, Boom, Done.
Vorel of the Hull Clade plays very well with Deadbridge Goliath. Doubling counters for 2 mana gets ridiculous in about two turns. She is great for all points of the game.
Renegade Krasis
allows for your creatures to grow as a whole. All of them will have counters on them so every evolution will help greatly.
Deadbridge Goliath might seem a little out of place in this but it is great. First of all it is a 4 mana 5/5. Thats good. If it enters when
Master Biomancer
is out thats even better... 7/7 or better. Second of all it is not going to be a creature your opponent wants to kill because of the scavenge. The scavenge plus Vorel of the Hull Clade is insane.
Rancor... "So wait, that huge thing has trample now?!?"
Simic Charm is very versatile and fits many of the gaps. Hexproof, Control, and buff makes this a very useful card.
Spell Rupture
. At first I was not a fan with this card but after playing with it at FNM it won me over. Cheap control and will be good early or late game. Even if you have just Young Wolf out it could require one or two more mana which in the early game leads to destroying the spell. Late game its even better because you should have buffed creatures out. Its hard to drop a 6 mana card when 12 or more is required to play.
Cancel is added control. Something to help to push to the late game.
Young Wolf + Rapid Hybridization can be use to kill your own wolf and gain 2 creatures back with added buffs from the Biomancer.
Sideboard:All cards in the sideboard are for either added protection from counter/burn decks or added control for yourself. This deck needs to be pushed as late as it can go so it gets absolutely overwhelming. Lots of times I've had opponents quit before I could even kill them because I had so many tokens and counters and obnoxious math going on.
Tons and tons of dice. So many counters.
