So, this is the first "Turn 2 Infinite Combo" Deck I had built. Super, super, simple, which is what makes this so different to the mana combos that already exist. When I made this combo, I jumped straight on google and searched for talks of infintie mana combos and found none like this at that time.
The best this plays at is turn 2, and can win on turn 2 depending on how you build your deck around it. It can be used as convenience as well, as always having any amount of mana available to you is one of the best things about this combo. Many people will jump straight on making a turn 2 win deck with hydras, etc... But this is not always needed, unless you like be a fun killer of course! Haha!
First I will jump on explaining the combo:
So, turn 1, play a Forest, tap it and play Arbor Elf.
Turn 2, play a dual colour land, in this deck, that is card:Yaviyama Coast and Hinterland Harbor. Then, tap the dual land and attach Utopia Sprawl to your Forest for Blue mana, tap it and untap it with Arbor Elf to add for mana to your pool, 2 Green and 2 Blue. Attach Freed from the Real to Arbor Elf with 3 of that mana (2 Green and 1 Blue) and with them remaining Blue, untap Arbor Elf, rinse and repeat.
There you have it, turn 2 infinite mana! Now play around with it!
One major issue with this combo is that it only gives you Green mana. However, utilising Prismatic Omen you can declare that the land is a "Forest" when declaring it as a target for Arbor Elf, but when you tap it, you can then declare it as a basic land of any type you wish. This is the one way!
For another version, you can use Mycosynth Lattice, 'nough said! You could also use dual Basics, such as Breeding Pool, Canopy Vista, Cinder Glade, Overgrown Tomb, Stomping Ground and card:Temple Ground. This allows you to target the land with Arbor Elf and Utopia Sprawl (of course you must choose Blue with it still) and then when you tap the land for mana, just add the other colour it can produce, instead of Green.
For this particular deck, I decided to utilise the drop simic creatures; Altered Ego and Nimbus Swimmer.
Nimbus Swimmer will give you a nice turn 2 win, as it has flying, and it is very unlikely that your opponent will have a flyer, not impossible of course, but they are dead next turn no doubt.
Altered Ego is for a little later in the game, as a beast of a copy cat creature, but of course can be an even bigger Nimbus Swimmer (an / X2)! Now that's what I call OVERKILL!!
I have Compulsive Research for card draw, the reason I chose to run this one is because, once the combo is running, land is not needed so much.
I also decided to run Annex, Plow Under, card:Creepng Mold and Reclaiming Vines to control my opponents land base, to really stick it to them. While you are sitting there with more mana then you could ever really need, your opponent is running dry. This will really get to them!
As an added bonus, both Creeping Mold and Reclaiming Vines can be used to get rid of any artifacts or enchantments that are hindering you or could be a threat if things progress in that way.
I had a reason for running Unexpected Results, but I can't recall why at this moment in time, so I may change it up.
