What about Carrion Feeder to make your sacrificing combo better ?!

March 21, 2013 4:59 p.m.

Not bad, love zombies. I had something pretty similar that worked well for me. I'd do this:+4 Creeping Tar Pit- one of te best dual lands ever+1 Rooftop Storm- I'd definitely include it in an all zombie deck+3 Grimoire of the Dead- not a shabby artifact at all+2 Phylactery Lich- part of the reason for all the Grimoires+2 Ghoulcaler's Chant- must have for an all zombie deck+2 Duskmantle Guildmage- 1st ability goes along with your win conditions-2 Diregraft Ghoul- to make room for phylactery-2 Gravecrawler- good but not great, make room for duskmantle-2 Altar's Reap- replace with ghoulcaller's chant-4 Tragic Slip- decent at bestAnd then probably shuffle the lands around a bit to compensate for mana changes.

This deck is standard so i can't use Creeping Tar Pit or Carrion Feeder. I don't see why Guildmage would be good as I took out undead alchemist. And tragic slip is great since i could just sac a zombie and instant kill one of their indestructibles. I like Phylactery Lich, but grimoire costs 4 and he costs 3, so he would be sitting in my hand for a while until i draw one of the 4 grimoires. And he would be coming down on turn 5, so the potential 3 drop is kind of ruined. Altar's reap is my only draw source, so that is a must. Gravecrawler will do rediculous saccing combo's with Grimgrin, Corpse-Born and either blood artist or diregraf captain out.

Sorry, i didn't read about your format =X

But for me, you need something "faster" to sacrifice your creatures and get your combo on. Grimgrin, Corpse-Born is a cost 5, too much for me.

There are no standard saccing zombies except for him, so that's why i put in Killing Wave, Mutilate, Altar's Reap, and i'm potentially thinking of putting Bone Splinters back in.

I like it a lot! how do you feel about Zombie Apocalypse ?

March 24, 2013 9:27 p.m.

Trumbone says... #9

I would need to run more land for Apocalypse as I am already running Mikaeus with just 21 land. I love apocalypse though.

I'd throw duress in the sideboard and put in maybe mutilate

March 25, 2013 10:29 p.m.

Trumbone says... #11

Duress stops a lot of things, mutilate just wipes the board, along with my creatures. It doesn't proc diregraf captain, and only procs blood artist on itself. (as in just the 1 damage from blood artist).

hmmm true, mutilate stops undying (also stops thragtusk), it's just duress will be a pretty dead card if you're playing against aggro and the last thing you want to draw into is a dead card

aggro has removal that i can duress

Bloodthrone Vampire could be a good choice... to make your combo faster!

What about the new zombie - Wight of Precinct Six ?

How does Killing Wave work for you? Is it serious removal or for killing your own creatures?

March 26, 2013 11:27 p.m.

Trumbone says... #16

It's both. I could use it to sac for blood artist/ or make them sac for blood artist/ or just make them sac or take 6. It's so useful.

Throw some Cavern of Souls in there, I know they're wicked expensive but a necessity in heavy creature decks. I love re-animator/zombie type decks, you get a +1 from me!

Yea caverns are always a must.

I'm running Crypt of Agadeem in mine Zombie Deck.

You can try this one...

This is standard btw

April 2, 2013 1:39 p.m.

It seems viable enough. Mind if Recreate it and use it myself? As a kind of test?

April 13, 2013 10:43 a.m.

The Thrull Parasite seems a little pointless. It's only be effective oncwe per turn and that once per turn seems pointless to me.
