SOI UPDATE: NOW WITH SKULK!Skeleton Key added. Removed Leonin Shikari. Added Behind the Scenes and removed 2x Flayer Husk

Ever wished you could shore up that sweet glass cannon combo deck and make it resilient without sacrificing the combo element that makes it so much fun?

Add 3 parts Treefolk and stir!
I noticed that the Puresteel Paladin/0 Drop combo decks had a lot of toughness buffs in the 0 drop equipment. I threw this together just to see if I could jam Assault Formation into it and capitalize on them.
I've tried lots of variations (mono white kor, soldiers, weenie, etc) All have their benefits but the 'splash of treefolk' seems to synergize the best (so far).
Just took the plunge and got a set of fetch/shock lands as i'm pretty excited about this one.
There is a short supply of land so mulligan if you don't have any or if you have just one without some obvious action (a Birds of Paradise Treefolk Harbinger and a Paradise Mantle, etc)

Turn 1: Fetch, forest, or Temple garden + Birds of Paradise

Turn 2: Fetch, plains + Doran, the Siege Tower Didn't draw your Doran already? Treefolk Harbinger and a Wall of Omens can get him at this point. Don't have either? Means you probably have a mess of equipment. Play them sparingly to keep your BOP a viable blocker. You'll want to save the equipment for when a Puresteel Paladin shows up.

Turn 3: Puresteel Paladin or Monastery Mentor Have both?..recommend the mentor first unless it's getting close to crunch time. If the mentor is out when you start going crazy with the paladin-equipment combo draw run, you're gonna have some mad tokens on the board. Cast your free equipment either way and play Retracts with Birds of Paradise or Paradise Mantles to keep the draw run going if you have a paladin out (which you should get as many out as possible as the draw amount will stack!) Don't mill out! :)
Also, sometimes the Puresteel Paladin or Monastery Mentor just doesn't show to the party. Maybe they're getting drunk on that Elixir of immortality at the bottom of the deck. Either way the deck is slower but you can reliably beat your opponent to death with slow equiped Accorder's Shields on a Birds of Paradise. You'll still hear things like 'wow, that's OP!" as they look again at either the Assault Formation or Doran, the Siege Towers text in disbelief. Meanwhile, you're almost kinda sad that they aren't seeing what this deck was actually designed to do.
NOTE: Don't forget that your Treefolk Harbinger s can snag that Indomitable Ancients! Also it can tutor up either the Overgrown Tomb if desperate for black (to cast Doran) or another Temple Garden if you're shy on land in the beginning.

Sideboard wasn't too relevant last Friday need to update against infect, platinum angels, and mill.
Update 2 Feb 16 : the Knight Exemplar + Runed Stalactite combo wasn't reliable --removed both
Update 2 Oct: +2 Runed Stalactite, +1 Knight Exemplar +2 Chord of Calling Best decision EVER!
I loves me some suggestions so have at in the comments!
Also upvote this mother if you think it's as fun as I do (or even close) ;)
Dont have treefolk or just want to check out the next best version of this deck? Be sure to visit Big Booty Birdz (check it out, here's another one) and show those Glint Hawk s some love by upvoting!

Updates Add

1st match: Against green ramp aggro 1-1 draw - kept having nothing but land on my loss (go figure with 15 land!), went past 5 turns on game 3 when out of time, hence draw
2nd match: Against a perfectly tuned infect deck : 2-1
3rd Match: Against sphinx tutelage mill: 2-0, kinda scary as my combo went off and I had all but 10 or so cards in my hand and still hadn't drawn my Doran or an AssForm...against a mill deck. Finally drew and won same turn.
Match 4: Against a well made goblin aggro: 2-0 VERY close! Both times was down to 1 life.
Championship match: Against same infect deck from match 2: 0-2 :( Both games lost turn 3. Once was a buffed blighted agent another a buffed inkmoth nexus. Should have sided the damn Spidersilk Nets! Forgot about the damn moths! Of course Meliras would have been nice too but I don't own any.

MVP: Treefolk Harbinger - absorbed poison counters, hit for 3 with the Doran...he tutored, pulled land when I needed it. This guy tutoring Indomitable Ancients was key in blocking things like a 7/2 Rablemaster when I couldn't draw the Puresteel for the combo run.
