Also, I forgot about the card Serra Ascendant. It's a pretty good clock.

I'll be upgrading my lands when I can acquire them, but thanks for those suggestions.
I like Serra Ascendant, but this isn't the typical Soul Sisters deck which races to 30+ life. With the black elements, it is more about life sustainment and stabilizing before exploding upward with Archangel of Thune or incremental advantage with Bitterblossom.

Makes sense. The deck seems sick though. I am always a big fan of B/W.

Your mana curve is not matching very well. 80% of the deck either costs 2 or just 1 mana. You will mostly end up with more lands than you need. I would at least switch Sign in Blood for Phyrexian Arena and use 4 Bitterblossom. You could make it more token based to match better with the Soul Sisters (Spectral Procession, Lingering Souls and Intangible Virtue, but not Raise the Alarm ) and Agroo at the same time. I agree with everything GabeCubed said. Discard is really important.

Your deck is great at the defensive part but while the soul sisters protect against killing yourself with paying life, they don't save you from decking yourself in a long match-up.
What do you think about Elixir of Immortality? It does also add life in a pinch.

Night's Whisper instead of Sign in Blood? unless you might target opponents with sign in blood

Invest a bit in the 3 mana Curve. perhaps Vampire Nighthawk instead of Nyx-Fleece Ram
July 12, 2015 2:14 a.m.
Great suggestion, ricvram. I'm thinking a 2/2 split of Nighthawks and Rams.
Thanks!
I've also updated the mana, adding more Godless Shrine with less lands coming in tapped.

Perhaps you could use Blood Baron of Vizkopa in the SB to bring in against decks with a bunch of black and white removal. Also helps with the lifegain focus.

Great deck! +1Maybe replace Vampire Nighthawk with Vizkopa Guildmage? The Guildmage usually does the kill. Also very strong: Whip of Erebos for the sideboard. These days people might have Virulent Plague in their sideboards to get rid of the tokens, this is where the whip would be a good board-in for sorin.

Thanks ------! I definitely see the utility with Vizkopa Guildmage. It's a devastating addition to this list. And thanks for the sideboard help. I've yet to test the waters in a tournament with this deck, and it's been a while since I've played competitively, so I expect my sideboard to be tweaked as I learn the meta.

Sounds dumb. Looks dumb. Can't attack. Totally contrarian to your general concept.
Just play it. You'll see.

Dismember needs to be in the mainboard. Preferably replacing Bile Blight - it's a good card, but -3/-3 misses some key creatures in Modern (namely Siege Rhino, Tarmogoyf and Tasigur, the Golden Fang), so it's a very limited card in its usage. Plus the double black in its mana cost can get a bit clunky sometimes.
You need more hand disruption. Consider Inquisition of Kozilek and/or Duress to go along with the Thoughtseizes.
Nyx-Fleece Ram doesn't look too useful in this build. You have tons of lifegain already, and there isn't much of a need for large blockers since your life total will keep raising anyway. Not to mention you want to be casting either Dark Confidant or Bitterblossom on turn 2 - if you have one of those two and a Nyx-Fleece Ram in your hand by turn 2, the Ram is, for all intents and purposes, a dead card.
With G/W Bogles' recent surge in popularity, there's a lot of hexproof being played right now, so you may want to have some edicts in your list just in case. Geth's Verdict, for example.
And finally, as with most token decks, this could use one or two swords. Sword of Light and Shadow is the one that best suits your strategy, but Sword of War and Peace fits it as well.

Well, this is a mess. It's like you want to be BW Tokens, but you like lifegain. I'd be taking this deck in the direction of BW Tokens, because BW Soul Sisters is not consistent enough, and not clearly better than mono colour to warrant a black splash.
Just play BW Tokens with 4x Auriok Champion mainboard, and that should solve all the problems.
Your mana base is horrendous. No fetches, heaps of taplands. That mana base cannot conceivably cast your important spells on the turns they should be coming down, and 22 lands without Windbrisk Heights makes Archangel of Thune very unreliable to cast.
Here's a question: Why play a lifegain deck when so many of your spells cost you life, or tempo? xzzane will help you to make this a BW tokens deck.

This deck wants card advantage, enough lifegain triggers to surplus the life costing spells which provide more lifegain triggers, and to make all of my creatures huge with disruption and removal to slow down my opponent's plans.
My lands do indeed need work. I'll be upgrading them as I can.
In testing and in casual play, the deck has been a blast. I don't want to change it's direction until I play it competitively and find that it simply doesn't work.
Thanks for all the feedback.

I run RW soul sisters and really like your build. one thing that has caused issues for me is infect, as it really doesn't care about my life total. something to watch out for, and for sideboarding Celestial Flare is good for infect and overconfident tron players swinging without counters up.
July 18, 2015 12:15 a.m.
Thanks pryoplasm! I'm running Geth's Verdict sideboard to mitigate that but Celestial Flare is a great card as well.

any plans on dealing with infect? Phyrexian Crusader gives my RW sisters deck issues at times, maybe some Go for the Throat or other utility kill spell?
September 22, 2015 10:30 a.m.
Infect is not a great matchup, but I do have hand disruption, 4 removal spells in the main deck that can target pro white including 2 Go for the Throat already, as well as Celestial Flare and Hero's Downfall in the sideboard I can bring in. I don't mind chumping with Bitterblossom either. I have yet to see a fast, stompy style infect deck in my local meta, though.

Your lands will need some work. Marsh Flats, Godless Shrine and Fetid Heath are necessary to this deck.
Second, Go for the Throat and Smother are better than Hero's Downfall in modern.
Solemn Offering is a terrible card in modern, there is better artifact and enchantment removal in modern. Disenchant comes to mind. You won't want that main deck though. I'd replace it with Spectral Procession or Lingering Souls. Also, some discard spells, such as Inquisition of Kozilek and Thoughtseize.
Besides that, it looks good.
