Karn's Bastion . Everyone seems to be forgetting about this card. I'd also recommend some more card draw. Vampiric Rites , Greed or Arguel's Blood Fast  ^Flip, Necropotence , something to help out if Yawgmoth isn't on the board. Card draw on the commander is helpful, so it isn't as necessary to run the amount I'd usually run, but a bit of redundancy is helpful.

Haeffound: you are wrong, and will continue to be wrong no matter what you site. This has been covered in depth by many Commander content creators, and just about anyone who has been playing commander for over a year. I understand your confusion, but everyone else here is right.

bushido_man96: Thanks for your comment. I was running Necropotence for a while, actually, but the exile-on-discard clause was a major problem for the deck (since it shut down my reanimation). I may run it again, though, if I'm finding I have card draw issues.

I'm not a huge fan of Karn's Bastion here, honestly, because I'm already running enough lands that don't give me colored mana.

If you don't like the exile effect of Necropotence (and I get that), try running Greed . Don't have to exile, and it works well as a mana sink at the end of the last opponent's turn. It's a bit slower, yes, but I find it works well.

I’m Never really sure what to post on your deck lists as I feel like you cover every angle! It’s just like giving Ferrari advice on making cars...

The only thing I could suggest is a combo I have discovered which you’re already pretty much running, but adding Phyrexian Altar allows you to sacrifice tokens created by Nest of Scarabs to create the you need to proliferate with Yawgmoth, Thran Physician , which in turn then creates all the scarabs again.. rinse and repeat.

As I said above, never really sure what I can add to your decks, I think they’re awesome.

Have you considered swapping out something like Rite of Belzenlok for Mastermind's Acquisition or a more expensive $ tutor? Mastermind's Acquisition can fetch the Rite from your collection and lets you use a sideboard for stax hoser cards and things like Deathgrip . I'd also recommend Glistening Oil and Grafted Exoskeleton for more infect if you feel like you want to run more. They are re-useable and if you are going for infect I feel like you should just go for it. Its going to tilt people regardless. The Blight Dragon has haste and would be a solid addition as well.

Perfect_Phyrexia: Mastermind's Acquisition 's second mode doesn't work in EDH. There's no sideboard or "outside the game" in the official EDH rules (which my group plays under). I'm not overly interested in further infect, to be honest? It's definitely a secondary/tertiary wincon, since it generally requires investing 18+ black mana before it wins.

Poly_raptor: Ooh, I do like that... Lemme think on it :) at the very least it's extremely flavorful.

Rambolicious_0: I ran Blowfly Infestation for a while, but it honestly didn't QUITE do what I wanted (and occasionally murdered my own board in the process). It's more useful in Hapatra. Meanwhile, while Black Market DOES generate huge amounts of mana, I generally don't want to spend 5 mana on ramp that I can't use until the following turn.

Black Market would be great if you've got some mana sinks to use with it in the mid to late game. Otherwise, I'd say you're right; "ramp" at 5 mana isn't really ramp.

Thoughts on Lux Cannon and Darksteel Reactor in this?

Rambolicious_0: Oh, it was a pet card back when Scars of Mirrodin was coming out - such a splashy effect! I built an entire standard deck around proliferating it, and it would be awesome to fit that sly little reference into an EDH deck :3

Lux Cannon is a good suggestion. Gotta remove that Rest in Peace or Humility somehow.

thoughts on the new mono black Doomsday pile with Ransack the Lab ?

doomsday > ransack the lab > put mike and trike in the GY and put Victimize in hand > victimize to reanimate mike and trike for the win?

if you don't have a creature on board just have Dusk Legion Zealot on top of the pile to draw and have a creature to sac to victimize.

it's an 8-10 mana win combo in mono black. might be worth it? it's not like mike or trike is bad in the deck anyways so they're not "dead" cards.

It's... cute? Honestly, the real issue is that 1) I have no interest in running Triskelion in this deck, since he's utterly useless outside that combo, and 2) I have very few ways to protect that combo from counterspells or removal in mono-black, and if it's disrupted I'm SOL.

I suppose in this deck I could run a pile like Defense Grid / Contamination , Ashnod's Altar , Weaponcraft Enthusiast , Nim Deathmantle , Zulaport Cutthroat , with Yawg providing the method of draw... But then the question is whether it's actually NECESSARY, ya know?
