Deck was originally very singleton style to satisfy the Vorthos in me that wanted to see all of the artworks, but eventually evolved into something slightly more competitive. I ensured that I have a collection of each bear card (artwork, name, creature type, etc) in existence to satisfy my collector needs and continue with a stronger deck. Just so I can pull it out at a random LGS and keep up with another casual style deck.
Original Concept, "Only bear cards and cards with a bear in the picture and focus on having as much artwork presented throughout the deck (singleton)"
New Concept, "Bear tribal with cards that fit the overall flavor of the deck and function to supplement the tribal archtype"
This allowed for Adaptive Automaton, Muraganda Petroglyphs, and Slate of Ancestry to be added to the decklist. All still fitting the decks flavor but adding a whole new level of competitiveness to the deck.
I do ensure that I add as many different artworks as possible to the deck. So I have 4 grizzle bears, but one of each artwork possible instead of using the same card over and over.
I tried a Bear EDH deck which was fantastic, but unfortunately my play group is too competitive for it to really go over well. So I have decided to keep to a strong collection for now.
