A themed Boss Sligh/RedDeckWins that I came up with to abuse Fists of the Demigod , Ashenmoor Liege , & Psychotic Fury ..

Part of the inspiration for this was to make a flavorful deck that is cheap, easy to learn, and fun to play; and while not exactly Tier-1 material, it would certainly clean-up at a Casual tournament----especially considering that Doom Blade & Ultimate Price are completely dead cards against this deck..

Budget modifiers.. Show

Although a realitivly cheap deck (for Modern) to begin with, this deck can actually be built for about ~50$; as demonstrated here: Rakdos Sligh Beats - RDWs.. Extra-Budget..

Rakdos Cackler : A Rakdos-themed Grizzly Bears for .. Works for me..

Spike Jester : A Hastey Lightning Bolt-on-a-Stick for ..

Goblin Deathraiders : ...and this little 3/1 beat-stick has Trample! And therefore offers the best overall synergy with Brute Force + Fists of the Demigod + Goblin Deathraiders for a powerful turn-3 play..

Fulminator Mage: (non-basic)Land destruction on legs!

Ashenmoor Gouger : A 4/4 heavy beat-stick for ; can be scary on it's own, and becomes even scarier when paired with any number of other various Aggro buffs the next turn before turning it sideways.. ;) (Enables powerful turn-4 plays..)

Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch: An even scarier 4/4 heavy beat-stick with First Strike & Haste, and that it also gives my Rakdos Cackler (s) Haste is just sprinkles on top..

Falkenrath Aristocrat: A Hastey 4/1 Flyer with utility that can potentially make her very hard to deal with. (Perfect late-game top-deck..)

Ashenmoor Liege : The Tribal Lord that pumps the rest of my creatures by +2/+2; and even punishes the opponent who targets it for any reason.. (Enables powerful turn-4+ Alpha Strikes)

Rakdos, Lord of Riots : And of course-- the Legendary Rakdos himself! The (reletively) easy to cast Huge Flying Bomb..

Fists of the Demigod : The star enchantment of this deck.. Gives any creature in this deck +2/+2 First Strike & Wither for only ? Ouch... So much value-~-it's hurts!!~~

Madcap Skills: A (2)-drop +3/+0 buff with pseudo-unblockability can get a lot of damage through..

Brute Force: Because Aggro !!!..

Psychotic Fury : A Combat trick that also cantrips are a rare thing for RDWs..

Lightning Bolt: duh....

Terminate: Unconditional targeted creature destruction for problemsome blockers, attackers, utility creatures--such as mana dorks, etc.. And all that at Instant speed!..

Potential Turn-3 win.. Show

Turn-1: Land --> Unleash Rakdos Cackler

Turn-2: Land --> Madcap Skills --> swing for 5 (w/ Menace)

Turn-3: Land --> Swing --> Psychotic Fury & Brute Force for 16.. GG

(Can also use the less evasive Fists of the Demigod as well)

Aggressive sideboarding strategy.. Show

Rather than attempting to pack the sideboard full of specific answers to specific decks (that I may--or may not even play against), this deck is meant to aggressively sideboard in Burn according to the particular match-up, essentially transforming the general nature of how the deck executes.

This serves a dual purpose:

• 1) To refine the tempo to become even faster according to the particular match-up..

• 2) Because the mainboard is entirely creature-driven Aggro w/ Auras & instant-speed pump spells. This would invariably draw out an opponent's extra kill spells, boardwipe, and/or any other various creature-hate in their sideboard according to what they they had to deal with Game-1 (as opposed to things such as Leyline of Sanctity). So the idea is---by switching up the Win-con from 100% pumped-up Creature-based combat damage (Sligh Beats..), to a rough mix of Burn & value Creatures (RDWs..), this in turn increases the possibility of the opponent drawing & holding on to dead (or at least significantly lower impact) cards..

Generally speaking;

Vs. Control: sub out non-Haste creatures, and most of the creature buffs for Burn..

Vs. Faster Aggro: sub out mostly higher cost spells for Burn..

Vs. Combo: same as Aggro, but with the addition of Rakdos Charm and/or Slaughter Games..

Conclusions...

I originally started this while my Johnny side was playing with the Timmy side, but they were causing such a stir that Spike decided to show up to play.. So what I'm saying is: if there is a way to increase the overall competitiveness while staying in theme--Great. Otherwise I do understand that this may never be much more than a Tier-2~3 brew overall, but that doesn't mean that it can't still give the Tier-1 archetypes a run for their money too!! ;)
