I'm looking to bring my ex-standard deck Shotgun Wurms to modern. not sure what's the best way to run the deck, all i know is i want blast of genius as a win-con.

basically i have no idea what makes up good modern decks, so i'm asking for some help getting a solid control shell. Also not sure what are some staple cards or alternatives that won't cost an arm and a leg.

Currently in a proxie and playtest phase although there's a long way for me to go before i'll be happy with this deck. From my previous iteration of the deck and from playtesting i need a lot of filtering to reach 6 mana and not be dead by the time i get there. Also, until i get my hands on some emrakuls i'll be stuck with 11cmc as a damage cap for blast so i'm questioning if i should run Lightning Helix over Electrolyze since i need to reach 9 total, assuming opponent doesn't shock/pay life. This has influence over my next choice of Pull from Tomorrow over Sphinx's Revelation. I'm unfamiliar with my lg's modern meta and so i'll assume some life gain is relevant which is why sphinx's made the cut. The discard from pull isn't a major drawback since i have access to Temporal Trespass . I'm also hesitant to cut Izzet Charm since its utility is fantastically strong in this deck. I'm aware that's each mode is fairly weak in comparison to other options but it's flexibility wins me over every time

so to anyone who's played jeskai control or those who want to pitch their 2 cents in, any thoughts on particular cards and reasons you prefer card A over card B.
