@HarrisonHarry

I Hadn't actually heard of them before, I'll replace Terminate with Urge to Feed . What should I replace for Feast of Blood ? I'm thinking Deviant Glee at the moment.

I run my own vampire deck, and a card I noticed that worked well for dealing out a ton of damage early is Ordeal of Purphoros . The reason it does is because technically, it only requires the creature to have attacked at least once, and once it has 3 +1/+1 counters on it, you can trigger the sacrificing effect. Adding the counters helps beef early creatures, and makes something like Stromkirk Noble absolutely relentless. By the time you swing a second time, you are hitting as a 4/4, and you get to deal out 3 damage to your opponent as well, totally for 7 off of one creature. Or can be a great boost for that early Markov Blademaster . May not work in your deck, but in combination with Curse of Stalked Prey it can be incredibly devastating. Just a thought!

Nice tribal deck +1

I'd probably decrease Shadow Alley Denizen and increase Stromkirk Noble to a 4 count. Also have you thought about adding a few Olivia Voldaren ? Not only does it ping some damage at creatures, but it lets you take control of them and then promptly pump them with your lords.

@ZombieswithJetpacks cheers for the advice. I really like Shadow Alley Denizen 's interaction with this deck; it helps a surprising amount. I was actually thinking of taking the Stromkirk Noble out.

I was also thinking that this deck is too creature heavy and was thinking about putting in some more removal to really take control and get that damage through.

ok, so i've been working on vamp decks since Innistrad, heres my 2 cents: Rakish Heir . you really dont run Curse of Stalked Prey in a vamp deck because Rakish is that, except for 1 more mana you get a 2/2 out of the deal. much better cause vamp decks want lots of feet, the more the better because thats that much sooner you can use BK's transform ability to pump up everyone +2/+2.

next Feast of Blood and Dreadbore are good for removal, but i would recommend SBing Dreadbore because its only really necessary for planeswalkers. you can mainboard Terminate for instant speed and switch it with Dread when you see a walker.

Flame Slash is just bad here. either go with Mizzium Mortars for anti-creature, or Lightning Bolt for options.

consider some of the best vampires of all: Gatekeeper of Malakir , Kalastria Highborn (or Blood Artist instead), Falkenrath Aristocrat and Olivia Voldaren . Aristocrat for example will enable Tragic Slip to kill anything.

i would link you to my vamp deck, but i cant get it to link properly :/

@ shinobigarth -

the reason Curse of Stalked Prey is in here instead of Rakish Heir is because of the mana cost. Rakish Heir has a CMC of 3 which is really not very desirable considering I already have Markov Blademaster , Stromkirk Captain and Vampire Nighthawk taking up that spot.

I agree that Dreadbore should be SB'd, it's actually really annoying to play. Same with Feast of Blood there is nothing more annoying than sitting there wishing you could kill their creature but needing 2 of your own. I'll switch Flame Slash with Lightning Bolt for the option of damage to players and I'll switch Dreadbore with Terminate for now.

As for all of those other vampires, i'll consider them. The only problem is that most of my removal takes the 2cmc spot (Feast of Blood , Dreadbore /Terminate , Go for the Throat ) and Falkenrath Aristocrat and Olivia Voldaren would be competing with Bloodline Keeper  Flip 4cmc spot which they don't really stand a chance against.

ok i guess its understandable if youre going for more of an aggro build. in that case 24 lands is more than you need, 23 at most, you could probably get by ok with 22, adding in 2 more copies of things. mine is midrange so i have all the big 4 drops in there.

Great deck +1, but I do have to say that you don't need Shizo, Death's Storehouse since you do not have any legendary creatures, so it is really just an expensive swamp.

Maybe some Murderous Cut over few Dismembers?

Illness in the Ranks nullifies both Tokens and Twin decklists.

How do you plan to beat Living End? You have Surgical Extraction, but you'll only draw 0-1 a game. LE plays more than that in threats.

I'd like to see more hand disruption to fight off combo. Inquisition of Kozilek is a bit expensive these days because of all of the Eldrazi hype, but it does what you need done. I'd also take a look at Tribute to Hunger as another defensive card.

Thanks for all the suggestions and help with my sideboard. I've put a Murderous Cut in place of a Dismember and added Ratchet Bomb and Illness in the Ranks into the sideboard. I'm not sure if it's best to run 2x of more cards or just cut down the number of different cards and run 3x, 4x of each. More cards gives me wider coverage but less chance of actually drawing into those once sideboarded.

APPLE01DOJ what would you switch for her? I'm thinking maybe 1 or 2 of the Geralf's Messenger

Gatekeeper of Malakir and Bloodsoaked Champion would be my first cuts for a Liliana of the Veil playset. I would also add more discard. Additional Thoughtseize and some Inquisition of Kozilek or Duress.

Isn't Gravecrawler better than Bloodsoaked Champion here? Cheaper to return with Gary or Gray Merchant of Asphodel out. Anyway, like the deck!

Do you run into enough tokens for Illness in the Ranks to be worth running in your sideboard?

January 13, 2016 5:54 p.m.

TheFoilAjani says... #23

Gepetto I should have been clearer in my concerns, my fault. Firstly, Grafdigger's Cage can't stop Living End. Read the wording. LE exiles the yard, then sends it to field, while GC can only stop it when creatures go to field directly from the yard. In addition, keeping a 4-5 removal hand in order to stop all of the LE creatures is not only unlikely, but also impractical.

Jack-Frost I assume IitR is for Splinter Twin.

I would recommend Vampire Nighthawk because you've got great card advantage but it drains your life. I run 4 nighthawks and 4 obliterators in my mono black and they rule the game every time.

January 13, 2016 7:27 p.m.

Loyalty says... #25

Jack-Frost - illness is sided against splinter twin. It kills Pestermite tokens and stops Deceiver Exarch tokens from doing damage.

TheFoilAjani - to be completely honest I haven't had to vs a living end deck as of yet. What would you suggest?

BrassGolem - I was previously running the nighthawk but so far am finding Geralf's Messenger to be slightly better. Still a whole lot of testing to do though before I make the decision final.

Thanks for all the suggestions!
