Welcome to my Brago, King Eternal cEDH deck!

Since his entire ability is 1 trigger, Brago can severely abuse nonland permanents with ETB/LTB triggers and build a lot of momentum with mana rocks. For these reasons, we surround him with the most blinkable boiz and tappable rocks from across the multiverse. The name of most games is going to be "How Fast Can I Grab Strionic Resonator?", BUT we've got Lithoform Engine and plenty of other goodies to pop off with in the event that doesn't/cant happen. It's not an easy deck to use, but once you master the interactions you'll be abusing, there's few decks that have an easy time dealing with Brago's shenanigans.

IF you have Strionic Resonator OR Lithoform Engine out, you can do some serious stack bs using cards with ETB and LTB abilities that trigger separately like Oblivion Ring (2 paragraphs = 2 triggers so cards with 1 paragraph like Banishing Light wont work.). It's also very important that you announce the order your permanents are entering the battlefield since they all re-enter at once. Cards that have interactions when permanents ETB should enter before cards that actually trigger their own ETB, for example.

  1. Brago damage goes through. Trigger.

  2. In response, before choosing blink targets, activate Strionic Resonator OR Lithoform Engine, copying Brago's trigger. Copy goes on the stack above original trigger.

  3. Copy resolves, choose targets (O-Ring and the Resonator/Engine), and let them blink. Announce that the Resonator/Engine enters the battlefield before anything else does (or else you wont be able to use it). O-Ring's ETB triggers.

  4. In response to O-Ring's ETB, before choosing an exile target, activate Resonator/Engine and target Brago's original trigger to put another copy of it on top of the stack.

  5. Allow the copy to resolve and blink O-Ring again. Now O-Ring's LTB trigger resolves on the stack above the ETB and can't return anything because you haven't named a target for it to exile yet.

  6. 2 instances of O-Ring's ETB now happen in a row on the stack. With the 1st ETB, target whatever you want to exile permanently. The 2nd ETB target will return whenever O-Ring's LTB activates again.

NOTE: Oblivion Ring card ruling- "If Oblivion Ring leaves the battlefield before its first ability has resolved, its second ability will trigger and do nothing. Then its first ability will resolve and exile the targeted nonland permanent forever."

NOTE: Cards like Fiend Hunter, Leonin Relic-Warder, Angel of Serenity, Journey to Nowhere, and Detention Sphere also work with this since they have 2 paragraphs and permanently exile their targets.

Another fun trick with this is using Parallax Tide and Parallax Wave to permanently exile their targets.

  1. Brago damage goes through. Trigger.

  2. In response, remove the fade counters from the Wave and/or the Tide, choosing your targets for exile.

  3. Before that resolves, activate Strionic Resonator OR Lithoform Engine, copying Brago's trigger. Copy is on top of the stack.

  4. (Optional) If you want to re-use lands with the Tide, save some fade counters for this step and choose your lands. They will exile first on top of the stack. NOTE: This will create an infinite loop if you choose 2 of your own lands.

  5. Copy resolves, exiling the Tide/Wave and re-entering with all their fade counters (also returning whatever lands you decided to exile with the Tide). Nothing returned because nothing has been exiled yet.

  6. Fade counter choices resolve, permanently exiling whatever you targeted and leaving the original Brago trigger on the bottom of the stack.

OR

Brago, King Eternal + Sol Ring + Strionic Resonator OR Brago, King Eternal + Lithoform Engine + Sol Ring = never-ending blinking!!! Copy Brago's trigger with the Resonator/Engine. Then, blink it along with Sol Ring. Repeat. Mix either of these combos with any of the following cards and it's gg!

NOTE: you can replace Sol Ring with Drowner of Hope, Treachery, Mana Vault, Grim Monolith, Parallax Tide, or a combination of mana rocks that give 2 mana.

NOTE: If Brago isn't out, Archaeomancer + Venser, the Sojourner , Archaeomancer + Eldrazi Displacer OR Archaeomancer + Soulherder work, too. (:

  • When all else fails, Bribery has bagged me a baddie big enough to bust balls. Depending on the deck, Acquire can make things very winnable as well. Archaeomancer can abuse them, too. Steal whole combos. <3

OR

  • Maze of Ith, Kor Haven, or anything that stops Brago from attacking/doing combat damage.

  • Containment Priest stops Brago's shenanigans altogether.

  • Jester's Cap, Bitter Ordeal, Extract, or anything that weeds out combo pieces.

  • Any artifact hate is very unappreciated, obviously.

  • Board wipes... Setting up is a royal pain in Brago's regal posterior. Thus, we don't run them. Instead, we abuse cards that become one sided board wipes. Save a counter for the inevitable.

  • Angel of Finality and Rest in Peacefoil for graveyard heavy decks, RIP being the superior of the two since it Muddle the Mixtures.

  • Armageddon is probably unnecessary as a sideboard card, but it destroys troublesome land decks and CAN be a win-con.

  • Homeward Path isn't exactly something I put in often, but when I see that someone likes to take more things than me, I'll slip it in.

  • Decree of Silence is...mean. It's for when I want to be mean... in 1v1s...

  • Pithing Needle tbh, this card should be in mainboard as it's a consistent answer to Maze of Ick. Sorry, Maze of Ith.

This deck is 100% irl. Nothing in the decklist is proxied. Below are some cards that will get the inclusion when I can get my grubby little hands on them. The flow of the deck will likely change once I get them as well, since most of them are expensive mana rocks that cost , meaning I can stand to drop a few lands.

Please feel free to leave a suggestion and +1 if you like! (:
