I use silence to assure that no one can stop my combo when i pull it off. I'm not a fan of how it only targets one person. Thanks for the suggestion though and +1 if you like!

Actually, I'll consider Orim's Chant. Would just need to be strategic about who I silence.

haha you better get the new U / B oaths into this deck, and maybe even some more planeswalkers who knows
January 7, 2016 4:52 p.m.
KCisSICKnasty says... #5
That would rework the whole deck. O.o lol
I was thinking of Oath of Gideon since it spawns 2 tokens. Not really intent on adding more planeswalkers though. Oath of Jace is a big no for me. Don't want to discard and wouldn't benefit from the scry.
I'm really stoked to see the new planeswalker cards though! (: If they're dope, who knows! Maybe I will rework the deck. :P
Thanks for the suggestion and please +1 if you like!

Any reason you don't run scroll rack or top? could help out with manifesting. Is there any reason your not running Stasis, Back to Basics or Rising Waters? Also, you already run some lock down pieces, why not run GAAIV to help out with taxing and lowering your cmc.
These aren't suggestions, I'm generally interested. I really like your decklist and I want to alter it to be a little more lock downy

KCisSICKnasty says... #7
Just don't own a Rack or Top. If I did, I'd probably cut Skyship Weatherlight and Telepathy. Unless you have a better suggestion?
As for the stax, just not the kind of deck I want to run. Stax are annoying and can backfire. When they do, it's a nightmare because you can only blame yourself. I'd like to make a spot for Winter Orb since it can combo with Whirler Rogue. (tap it during your opponents end step so you can untap all your lands)
The big man Augustin is just not something I'm worried about. He's cool, but just doesn't fit my bill. To be honest, I just don't need it. It's extra, y'know? Without it, I slay. With it, I'll slay just as much. lol
Honestly, Brago is broken. :P You can be stax-y, tax-y, or just drop dank shit and win. x) The latter is what this deck is about.
Many thanks and I'm glad you've taken an interest in Brago. (: Feel free to alter to your heart's content! Just link my deck in the description. (; Many thanks for the upvote also! :D

Credit will definitely be given where credits due. How do you feel about this deck without Grim Monolith? I ask because theres none in stock in my area so it will be about 2 weeks before I can get one. Does the deck rely super heavily on it or would another mana rock suffice for the time being? Do you ever feel like you run too few board wipes?
January 8, 2016 6:23 a.m.
KCisSICKnasty says... #9
Grim Monolith is definitely dope. Could see it working fine without it though. Could probably go with the cheaper alternative, Basalt Monolith. But yes, any rock would do the trick. (: Preferably one that produces 2 mana. (infinite combo)
As for board wipes, that is 100% my personal decision. :P I decided against any board wipes because they drive this deck crazy. If anything, I was going to run the board wipe saves (Ghostway, Second Sunrise, Faith's Reward). Counters are saved in my hand for board wipes. If I really need to wipe the board, the cool thing about EDH is that just about everyone puts one or two in their deck. My opponents do it for me. ;P

That makes a lot of sense. Do you think that this deck would be viable if it went a bit more of a harder control route or is that best saved for GAAIV?

Totally! With Brago's ability to blink things, you could run Mnemonic Wall along with Archaeomancer to grab counter spells back and Snapcaster Mage to flashback stuff. There's also all the wonderful Oblivion Ring clones to blink onto newer, bigger threats.

Dear me, I like your deck so much, mine is turning into a version of it.
January 12, 2016 5:48 a.m.
Why don't you use Snapcaster Mage ?
It works with Sun Titan better than Archaeomancer, though admittedly, when it returns to play, you have to cast a spell with it
January 12, 2016 6:06 a.m.
Also, Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir makes an interesting addition?

Thank you so much! :D Means a lot! (:
I actually dropped Snapcaster because I just don't run enough instants/sorceries to give him enough value. He exiles what he flashes back and I'm just not for it. :/ Was fun while he lasted.
As for Teferi, he would. Just no idea what I'd drop for him. :O
Really appreciate the kind words! :D Thanks again!
January 12, 2016 3:01 p.m.
Makes sense about Snapcaster Mage, though I think you need to make space for Teferi
I am running board wipes, which means Snapcaster Mage has a place in my deck, though I think Rings of Brighthearth which I thought had the same effect as Strionic Resonator but actually doesn't can come out

Hey by the way, I just wanted to make sure you knew that you can't actually turn Winter Orb off by tapping it. I got excited when I saw that comment since I run both cards but alas that is not how things work.
Nonetheless, you still have a great deck here.
How do you feel about your card draw? I run a handful of 2 drop cantrip artifacts that I think have served me well.
I'm also surprised to hear you are not excited about Oath of Jace, I've yet to test it but I imagine it'll be great for digging for the right card (I am also considering finding slots for Altar of the Brood and Body Double since I feel those have synergy together)
My deck is quite out of date though on here.

You're absolutely right. Well then. I didn't even know it had an Oracle text. That's a weird detail to change their mind about. lol
I usually don't have a problem with card advantage. :O
As for Oath of Jace, it's the discard. I just don't want to get rid of anything.
Many thanks for the kind words! (:

A card I love to use in my Brago deck is Nevermaker. If you get both of them out early, you can just return whatever your opponent plays with a quick swing with Brago. Great deck tho!

I've considered it for a long time. Just don't know what to drop. lol
Thanks for the +1!

I had to see it, and I'm not disappointed. I love this deck.
January 22, 2016 5:06 p.m.
Ever thought about the addition of Teferi, Temporal Archmage? He essentially doubles as a second Brago if the King himself gets shut down by a Nevermore, Prison Term, or Blatant Thievery effect. When paired with Brago, he allowed for as many as four psuedo-untap steps every turn. I added him to my competitive Brago list not long ago, as he's been well worth the spot. He makes the deck a little less dependent on its commander while also synergizing extremely well. All of his abilities are fairly useful, though it's obviously the second that makes him worth running.

Orim's Chant to replace silence - with Archaeomancer and the like, this can be super fun.
