In my Brago build, I really like digging with Whirlpool Rider. With a bit of luck (and sometimes Conjurer's Closet) I can dig for an answer/combo piece pretty well.

Actually doesn't sound too bad! Will definitely think about it!

Thanks and +1 if you like!

How do you feel about mana crypt? I'm on the fence if I should leave mine in...

Erosca: Mana Crypt is arguably the single most universally playable card in all of commander. Few, if any, decks do not wish to run it. Brago is one of the commanders that relies on it this most. You should never, EVER, consider cutting it unless you're deliberately trying to dumb down your deck to make it more in line with the power of your meta.

I love your deck! +1!

However, I got a question. How do you protect Brago? I'm making my own brago deck, and I don't really know how much I should protect him or how many cards I should devote to it...

July 12, 2016 1:52 p.m.

KCisSICKnasty says... #11

Mainly just counters. lol Usually, I don't have to protect him. I just need to let him happen and keep him up for 1 turn. :P

No Lightning Greaves or Swiftfoot Boots? Whaaaaaaat? Usually players leap at the opportunity to jam those into decks, and Brago is one of the few commanders that truly benefits from running then.

Shroud sucks in my opinion. And Swiftfoot is cool, sure. I just don't really feel the need to run it. Haste isn't all that important to me and unless Brago is enchanted, I try not to put anything on him so I can keep him untapped. Shroud keeps me from being able to enchant him with Unquestioned Authority which is something I try to get every game. Swiftfoot might be something I throw in again one day, but for now, I just play him smart and never cast him unless I have a counter to back him up. The only card I'm really looking to add is Mana Crypt once I get my dirty hands on one.

I rate having solid protection on your commander and being able to utilize his insanely broken ability one turn earlier much higher than a nearly unplayable enchantment. That's just my personal opinion though. I cut Authority from my own build long ago because it wasn't pulling its weight at all. In a 4-player pod, the chances of every single opponent being able to get a flier/creature with reach out before Brago swings is nill, and there are much better draw effects.

KCisSICKnasty says... #15

To each their own. It's been a home in my deck to deal with commanders and creatures that target other creatures (Beguiler of Wills for instance). The draw is just a plus. Not all too worried about swinging a turn earlier because I'll get to swing with him that next turn anyway. Everyone I know runs artifact removal to handle the boots too so, all it ever really did for me was get blown up. I don't understand what you mean by "nearly unplayable". Pro creatures and ETB draw is pretty playable imo. You seem to not like my deck very much because it's not like yours. lol Point blank: Brago is broken and no matter what, you're going to give people aids.

SorinDankov, I'm surprised you don't have Eldrazi Displacer in this list. It's a great way to abuse ETB triggers.

I actually never notice the exact wording on that card. Good call hahaha.

iamnickhansen: It's not necessarily that I think it's bad or anything. I just don't exactly have enough creatures for it to abuse. I dropped the O-Ring creature clones because, although they are good, they are easily dealt with. Other than that, I'm just not exactly too keen on extra sources of blink. :/ I appreciate the suggestion though!

Hey,

Nice list. I have some suggestions you could consider:

Thanks much for the input! (:

Angel of Finality is definitely sideboard material for me.

Duplicant is great and if I ever get my hands on one, I may absolutely add it.

Ixidron, I'm not sold on. He turns Brago face down which is basically the helm in this deck. Someone blows him up and I'm left with a field of 2/2s and no way to run my deck.

Perplexing Chimera is definitely an interesting pick. However, for 5 mana and a 1 time use, I'm also not sold on him either. :/

Sunblast Angel is also just not something I'm too excited to drop something for. If I cant blink Brago, she kills him as well. She doesn't exactly turn the tide for me.

To address your suggestions for cuts, all 3 of them have directly effected just about every board. lol

Blade Splicer is cheap and pumps out 3/3s that have first strike. Using 3 to block 1 thing means that I can take down something at 9 without losing any of them.

Drowner of Hope is a beast. Activates my infinite combo, pumps out 2 bodies, and generates mana all in a 5/5.

Whirler Rogue is definitely the weakest of the you suggested to cut. However, he not only pumps out 2 flyers, but can tap them to make ANY creature unblockable. Leads to some pretty rude shenanigans considering I can basically LET people kill others. I honestly hardly use him to make Brago unblockable. It's just a plus.

I really appreciate you taking the time to check my deck out! :D

Hi. I like to play control, and when I started at EDH, Brago quickly caught my attention. I took a look at many Brago lists, even more expensives, but this one of you was my inspiration, if I may so. I used to run na Aurelia, but fint it too slow and rarely could cast her. So I moved from Boros to Azorius. I made an Aggro/Control mostly for Duel EDH: St Traft Azorius Duel and a Combo/Control for EDH: Brago Azorius ETB. Could you spare some time to review my Brago Azorius ETB? If you could just upvote my Geist I'd be glad. Thanks

KCisSICKnasty says... #25

Thanks man. And it's hard to say. I have friends that take apart and rebuild decks all the time.

The list of commanders this deck has played against are: Karn, Sygg RC, Senn Triplets, Memnarch, Karador, Marchesa, Alesha, Scion Dragon, Oona, Wrexial, Momir Vig, Merieke, Nekusar, Nahiri, Kaalia, Prossh, Marath, Numot, Child of Alara, Daxos of Meletis, Animur, Mogis, Rakdos (LoR), Oloro, Nath, Rhys the Redeemed, Sigarda (HoH), Reaper King, Isamaru, Azami, Ob Nixilis (otBO), Mikaeus (tU), Skithiryx, Daretti, Krenko, Ezuri, Freyalise, Omnath (LoM), and Surrak.

I keep a list of every deck of theirs I've played against. :P For the most part, I don't have much trouble dealing with any of them. We play 3-4 player mostly with the occasional 5+ or 2-Headed Giant game. I really only lose because the heart of the cards just wasn't strong enough, but I've played the deck enough to know what I should save my counters for. lol I never let anyone think I'm doing too much. Games where everyone targets me, I make it their downfall. I can win out of the blue. (:

Thanks much for the compliment and upvote!!!
