I don't like it in this deck. If your prolonging an aggro deck, then you did something wrong. After play testing it a bunch of times, I hardly drew into it and when I did, I was either unable to play it or had better things to do that turn that would either deal more damage or end the game. After this many play tests I've seen that the deck constantly wins on turn 5-7. I just see a turn 5-6 obzedat as a waste of both a card and a turn. I'l tell you if I played a deck like this one and after doing tons of damage, you capped off with an obzedat, I would be glad you gave me another turn to play. Obzedat is for midrange not aggro.

dbrannon I feel the exact same way. cardkid123 I haven't really done any testing with this deck so you probably know better than me but at the very least Obzedat, Ghost Council should be in the sideboard as an option because it does make the opponent pay for dragging out the game and it is a huge swing on turn 6, if hit on curve after already dealing 4 damage to the opponent and gaining you 4 life.

The damage from obzedat is crap compared to what this deck can do. Geralf can do the 4 damage in 1 turn that obzedat can only do in 2. And the turn you do decide to swing with obzedat, its not like he has trample or even flying. They can simply chump block or use removal or something. But by the time you have him out with this deck, he is by no means the biggest threat and the times you can get him out, i guarantee you opponent will be questioning your decision when you probably could have killed them on that turn anyways with one of your many combos.

Have you thought about adding a strong cipher card in this deck in combo with Cartel Aristocrat ? Maybe Shadow Slice in place of obzedat, or Midnight Recovery in place of the orzhov charms?

Okay, I got tired of hearing about Obzedat, no offense to anyone. Long day, and I am just tired of the same post lol. The edit is made, i will play test when i can. Work swamps me. Thank you for looking so much into the deck, and the continued interest and support. I have considered Midnight Recovery to help me get some creatures back.

So do I, If I could post the cool art this guy did I would. he is doing a blood artist for me as well. it is so awesome. He also did a personal life counter for me and he did art on an entreat and a Rakdos return for my roommate.

I'm tired of hearing cardkid123 never SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT HIS OPINION holy shit man you are so wildly overbearing. if you want to run it that way, get the cards, and run it that way.

LMAO, I hate to say it, but I started to think the same, but I am just on edge from a bad day at work. I am friending you. I will also take a look at your decks and comment where I can!

Your really so dead set on the Orzhov Charm s? I don't think you need them that much if you have the cipher card in there. I would do -2 Orzhov Charm +2Bone Splinters ..... -1 Diregraf Ghoul +1 Lingering Souls ....

I probably wont keep the cipher. The deck runs smooth as is, if I really feel like I want to do the bone back again I will. As of now I will leave as be till FNM where I can properly test the deck against a slew of dang good meta game and decks. I have a really Thought meta here in all formats. I fight for all my wins there and that will tell me what is best. The only card that may change is the midnight.

I have been play testing this deck with ...-1Midnight Recovery ,-2Orzhov Charm -1Diregraf Ghoul ...... +2Demonmail Hauberk +2Lingering Souls . I had demonmail on cartel aristocrat a lot during the play tests swinging for 6 unblockable instead of just 2. These changes made the deck win on turn 5-6 on average.

Oh, uh... this seems really obvious now that I thought about it, but you would probably benefit a lot from Zealous Conscripts .

Umm mate, I would win turn 4 easily before. That was with it being just a B/W and before adding red for the tuned up aggro part. I feel like you are not playing the deck to it's fullest, if you average on that with a beefed up hitter.

I playtested the black white version of the deck against my friend's jund build. It was extremely strong at some points but I would say the matchup was slightly in his favor. I only changed a couple things about the deck (3 Sorin, 2 lingering)

I just traded my aristocrats because of the value being high at the moment. So, I won't be splashing red for them. I traded Aristocrats for bonfires so I would be interested in using them. With blood artist there really is some good synergy with bonfire.

I'll post my current working of the deck sometime today. I plan to play it this weekend. It will likely be black white unless I brainstorm some reason for playing red. Most of the decks I played last time it was serious basically all involved thragtusk, resto, serenity (it's what I was playing as well). It was a very frustrating night.

If you splash red, SB Skullcrack

Tweaked SB some for this weeks FNM, my meta likes to abuse Thragtusk, especially my roommate. So I adjusted my SB for my meta some, but I feel like it could still handle most match-ups. I do feel like I want 3 copies of some cards, because I want to be able to hit them more when I side them. I am still working on it.

March 26, 2013 10:31 a.m.

x106 says... #23

Thragtusk is probably one of the biggest issues locally for anyone that plays aggro. Once Thragtusk is out you can almost expect another thragtusk or something else ridiculous.

The thing I thought was coolest that I saw was a deck running kessig and drogskol reaver. Not to mention already having a faithmender out. It was fairly unbeatable for my Junk deck I was playing. (not to mention we were both chaining angel of serenity)

This is my current list, yes I know the sideboard is still too big but I'm trying to dream up changes.

cardkid123 says... #25

The BW version of the deck only won early if all went in your favor. Meaning 0 counters and 0 removal against you. I feel like this deck has more winning conditions and still have the chances to win very early. And of course the deck I changed it to can win turn 4. But thats if the opponent practically does nothing in those 4 turns to slow me down. Unlikely..
