x8bitGangsta, you said the Skirsdag High Priest was testing well right? I think you should keep them in your sideboard for matches where there is a lack in overall removal capability so you can spring out a 5/5 and then keep the Thrull Parasite in for aggro matchups where the recurring Geralf's Messenger ETB trigger as well as body would be useful.

I have a very similar deck but I went monoblack since it would be cheaper $$$. Monoblack Extort aka Demon Factory. I think yours is probably more versatile adding white and probably a bit heartier.

I have had some great games with Skirsdag High Priest firing on all cylinders when I start sac'ing. I also really like Altar's Reap in situations where I need to trigger morbid, ie Tragic Slip or Skirsdag High Priest, plus i get two cards speeding up the game. Best scenario in my deck would be a Crypt Ghast on turn four with a zombie, Gravecrawler, Blood Artist, and Bloodthrone Vampire on the board, then next turn you can sac gravecrawler and recast him 8 times for 8 direct damage, 8 life gain, and a 17/17 vampire on the ground. Its fun.

Have you thought about Killing Wave instead of Mutilate? Gives you the option to save any of your creatures if they are dire to your strategy. Also could make your opponent take damage earlier leading to an easier aggro win. Just an idea

I really like kamethemachine's idea of Altar's Reap if gives you awesome card advantage while working toward the end game using the sac strategy, you are basically cycling the card you sacked plus one. Really good idea.

I would advise taking out a Blind Obedience for one Immortal Servitude. That seems too powerful to pass up.

Whoa! This is getting more feedback than I thought it would! Thanks guys for the suggestions!

dhoard1320: Yeah I agree! That is actually what I ended up doing! It worked alright for me in some games. Thrull really pulled its own weight tonight tho. I have considered Altars Reap and have play tested with it. It didn't do me as good as I once thought it would.

@dbrannon He seems too slow for me in this deck. I would never get a chance to use him. I actually end the game usually turns 4-6 and that is not always hitting my mana drops.

l00ke00 I don't see that being to useful here. It would actually slow me down. Specially since the new update drops them for more removal. Thanks for the suggestion tho! I have a deck where Immortal is a Key card in if you want to take a look. BGu Immortal Artist (Looking for Help)

How did Bloodthrone Vampire work out for you?

March 16, 2013 8:51 a.m.

x8bitGangsta says... #11

Bloodthrone was alright really. I sided out one or both at times. She is still a fine addition if not a bit underwhelming at times. She let me kill some big blockers.

I can't say how important and how much of a role Lingering played for me. It is not going anywhere in the deck, or being cut down.

My Race to Your Face deck is similar to your deck, i usually win by Turn 5 so i did a bit of playtesting and Obzedat, Ghost Council would win the game if left unchecked. How did he do for you?

March 16, 2013 10:07 a.m.

x8bitGangsta says... #13

Obzedat hit the field rolling faces. He WINS games and here is no different. I loved him, I saw him in hand most game believe it or not.

Hah! This is really similar to my Orzhov Undeath deck.

Bone Splinters. Why? I understand that it's 1 CMC removal, but the sacrifice creature clause will cause it to be a dead draw sometimes, yes? Ever considered Dead Weight? Does the same thing but would be considerably more reliable, allowing play on the first or second turns without messing up one of your creatures.

March 16, 2013 10:26 a.m.

x8bitGangsta says... #16

A lot of people look at bone splinters and go...why? It is a great removal. Especially here, I run two so it isn't really a dead draw. It has not been for me so far. I hit them for 4 life with extort and having just one artist on the field, and cleared a blocker.

It just works so well here, especially when I have more than one artist up. Trust me it works. I will take a look at your deck as well mate!

Glad the deck performed for you well. I noticed the. jT about the gates, and I agree they can be a pain sometimes, but id rather have my colors consistently, so you make sure geralf's comes in bangin on turn 3. Best way to play a gate imo is turn 1 and turn 4, if I don't have a dual I need turn 1. They're quite useful, but you have to choose where it sees best play. I would love to actually play against this with mine. It would be a good game, that's for sure. Extort is the beez kneez.

March 16, 2013 11:03 a.m.

x8bitGangsta says... #18

Yes, the gates proved more useful than not for me. I made it work, and played my land drops well that night. I could have gone in more detail for my matches...I just played so much...and what I did to win some of the matches was long and "Complicated" Like knocking a guy to 12 after swinging and then doing 13 more damage to them on turn 4 to end it without attacking.

I like this deck. I play a mono black deck that is quite similar. I would love to add the white, but just can't afford it right now. I have not played mine much yet and I'm having some trouble trimming the fat off the deck. What are the biggest problems you run into? +1 from me, and grats on doing so well with this deck. If you get time, maybe you could throw me a couple suggestions for mine? Dead Alive

x8bitGangsta says... #23

Lol, Blood artist decks have been around for a while. I adopted this list from my Mono black with blood at the time.

I will thing on the The Lunarch, but I feel the other is kinda slow for me. I know Obzedat is 5 mana, but usually I play him on turn 5 and he ends the game.

March 17, 2013 7:24 p.m.

dhoard1320 says... #24

Not to insult you thefish42, but I think Mikaeus, the Lunarch is to slow for the deck seeing how to fit in to the curve it would have to come on to the field with on average about 2 counters and would either be racking up counters over the turns just to be sacked, or a bank on the field for one extra point of damage a turn. But it is not my deck, just throwing in my 2 cents.

March 17, 2013 8:04 p.m.

x8bitGangsta says... #25

He really is too slow for the deck. I was actually considering him in a different deck. I was just not completely shooting down his idea.
