Mono black goodstuff. Monoblack midrange?

The idea behind this deck is I couldn't figure out what monoblack commander to make a deck out of. I have a Chainer, Dementia Master that I was leaning toward. I have a K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth from my precon that's too good not to use somewhere. I love Geth, Lord of the Vault and own one but I don't think he's exactly a powerhouse. I have several Gonti, Lord of Luxury, and he makes a fun commander, but I have a friend who has a deck with him at the helm so it's not my first choice. I love the idea of Ayara, First of Locthwain and Syr Konrad, the Grim too. Erebos, God of the Dead is obviously epic and great for goodstuff. I think Yahenni, Undying Partisan makes a surprisingly good general, and I own several, but I already have a few voltron decks and a few sacrifice decks. I love the idea of Rankle, Master of Pranks as a commander too but I don't like to run Anti-Fun decks and I would have to tiptoe around my build to ensure that. Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker seems quite fun and unique as well.

So had an epiphany: Why not make a deck that can run a bunch of these fun legendary Black creatures in it?

I want to try out having a bomb in the command zone that the deck doesn't fully revolve around. I have a friend who has both a Avacyn, Angel of Hope deck and a Sheoldred, Whispering One deck. They seem inferior to having other commanders (for instance, the Sheoldred deck is zombie tribal) but DAMN if it isn't potent sometimes!

Seeing what I can put together without buying much, if anything--I have some fantastic black cards with no homes.

So the game plan is heavy ramp and heavy card-draw to find ramp and eventually the wincons. Seems like the appropriate way to go with Vilis, Broker of Blood. Only problem is I want to include a decent number of goodstuffs and legendary creatures, but also might need to wipe the board constantly. Having a midrange plan might not be so bad though. If I had a bunch of Black planeswalkers it might be fun to do monoblack superfriends. No way I can afford to do that though.

If the explicit goal was "Monoblack Control" Erebos, God of the Dead might be the better choice for the commander. I want to try something a little different. Same goes for "Monoblack Goodstuffs"--Erebos or Gonti, Lord of Luxury or K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth (or Sidisi, Undead Vizier?) might be better but people certainly make this deck with Vilis, Broker of Blood frequently.

I want a decent amount of life gain but I don't want the deck to feel too much like my white/black lifegain/life-control deck or my Golgari lifegain deck.

Some builders have gone all-in on cards that make you pay life but that seems dangerous without my commander out. I do need things that can drain my life at instant speed in case Vilis gets removed once he comes down.

A bit of demon tribal is going on but that's more of an accident. There are a few more I want to add but I've run out of space. I like the idea of this deck being kind of control-y and wiping the board over and over until I can stick a few huge demons. Liliana's Contract is in for the card draw. If someone wastes a removal spell on it that's great.
