i'm not fond of the evolve mechanic, relies too much on other cards, coming in at the right time.

Thanks for putting in the links, what do you think?

That looks sick, I'd probably run 4 Savageborn Hydra and drop the Vastwood Hydra, maybe drop 2 Savage Summoning to get a full set of Ghor-Clan Rampager . Savage Summoning is probably a better sideboard card here, move a couple removal spells main deck. Too bad I don't have the mana base to run it.

In my current decks, i rarely keep mana open, i just throw down hasty creatures, losing Strangleroot Geist is gonna make that more difficult, with Savage Summoning

I hope to be able to mitigate that, by playing non-haste creatures at the end of my opponents turn, limiting their choices and ability to remove it to instant responses, or alternatively as a surprise blocker.

I'll have to do some playtests against different archetypes before i can figure out where it belongs.

As for vastwood hydra, it works really well with Varolz, the Scar-Striped as i can sack it for an instant speed regeneration + huge creature boost, plus that hydra discourages removal, making it just as much a threat as the one with double strike, not sure how to play those either yet
