It's really a tough call. I'm like literally the only well-known vampire player who doesn't use them. And that's because my vamps are played WAY more aggressively than is common of the archetype.

YamishiTheWickedOne ohh i see, if you were to fix my creature list without bloodghast, what would you do? (Transitioning from mono black to rakdos vamps)

I assume no ghast due to the price? Before I go any further go out and buy a 4th nocturnus soon. You pretty much want to play him turn 4 as often as humanly possible. just drop the seers and artists altogether if you can't afford the ghasts. swap out captivating for captain, drop nighthawk down to 3 for a 4th nocturnus, add 4 nobles, 2 Olivia and if you can get him 1 Kalitas.

YamishiTheWickedOne i see thanks for the opinions. Ill get back to you when i get them and see what happens in playtest :)

It looks fine considering you can't yet afford ghasts, kalitas or cliffs. My advice is try and trade for a mutavault soonish. It's good early game momentum. mainboard looks almost finished. Focus sideboard after. I can help with that too.
October 20, 2016 7:07 a.m.
YamishiTheWickedOne ohh yeah mutavault sounds cool ? 1 is ok? What changes should i do in my sideboard? Heheh
October 20, 2016 8:18 a.m.
Btw how do u suggest to play this deck? What is the best hand to have at first?
October 20, 2016 8:20 a.m.

Play your hand disruption first, go after their removal spells. Use Nighthawk as a blocker if you have a captain. Captain has the benefit of putting Olivia out of bolt range, and can be an incentive not to block. Urborg lets you sit on your fetches until you need red or need a shuffle for Nocturnus. don't fetch into red unless you need to, after 2 red sources you don't need more. And Blood Moon is an ever-present threat so you want your basics in play.

I'm sorry Justin, I'm super busy this week, so I've barely been on. You can try reading through my comments on my deck to gain insight on siding, I've talked about it a lot.
October 26, 2016 6:14 a.m.
YamishiTheWickedOne yup im fixing my sidings accdg to yours hehe. If u have time let me know, im wondering what should i replace for 4x bloodghast.ill be getting the set in a few days hehe. :)
October 26, 2016 6:22 a.m.
YamishiTheWickedOne hey man ive play tested this deck joined a small tourney won against burn deck and elf deck. Sideboard of dragonclaw for burn is very impt hehe and the bile bligh for the elf

You can also do Sever the Bloodline for decks like that.
Burn is typically a horrible matchup for vamps, but it's rather fitting that vamps have a very strong elves matchup. On Zendikar elves are vampires' natural enemy. A huge benefit of vampires is that they have a really good matchup vs. Affinity, the best deck in modern.
October 27, 2016 9:34 a.m.
YamishiTheWickedOne yep i battled with affinity before and its one of the best matchups i had :) anyway im thinking im lacking of draw power, whats your opinion on that? Should i replace the hand disruptors?
October 27, 2016 2:02 p.m.
YamishiTheWickedOne says... #22
Keep your hand disruption. If Dark Confidant is too pricey, think about 1 Phyrexian Arena or 1 Asylum Visitor. You honestly don't need draw that badly.
October 27, 2016 2:59 p.m.
YamishiTheWickedOne i see, anyway im about to get my bloodghast in a few days, what do u think should i drop for bloodghast set? Hehe
October 27, 2016 8:54 p.m.
YamishiTheWickedOne says... #24
I'd drop 1 nighthawk, 1 lacerator, 1 land and... not sure what else. After this look into getting 1 Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet. Currently one of the best creatures in modern, and 1 might be enough since unlike Olivia he doesn't die to a bolt.
October 28, 2016 9:10 a.m.
YamishiTheWickedOne oh nice. Yeah i find myself sometimes fall into a landtrap . I see will try to get kalitas after bloodghast. fought with a 8wack, naya burn, and black white tokens. i fair with 8wack and naya burn well cause of dragonsclaw but damn that bw tokens it was like 2w and 5 lose for me haha
justinRO says... #1
YamishiTheWickedOne umm i like the hand disruption because it helps me ruin players combo and be able to predict whats gonna happen next turn during early rounds. I could drop one of each if space is really needed. Or what do u suggest? :)
