I wanted to build a deck that focuses on Thing in the Ice  . For such a cool card, I haven't yet found a deck that utilizie's it properly, aside from the popular mono-blue mill decks which rely on expensive cards.Without having to use a sideboard, I wanted effective protection from popular metas. I tried to use a method that taps out your opponent so you have time to flip Thing in the Ice, while also negating removal spells and removing opponent creatures. 2 mana drops like Celestial Flare, Puncturing Light and Send to Sleep will ensure your opponent can't maintain board control. This is important because until you flip Thing in the Ice, there will be no heavy creatures on your side of the board. Though a 0/4 is a great defence, spells like Languish can clear them. This is why you want something like Essence Flux , which will allow you to exile your Thing in the Ice (for protection) or other creatures (for ability activate) then return them (with a +1/+1 bonus)

I have to emphasize why I chose the card Not Forgotten , as it doesn't seem to be a popular option. This card works amazingly, because you are able to chose a specific spell you have already used and return it to the top of your library, or return a spell from an opponents graveyard to the bottom of their library. When using this against your opponent, you can cancel delerium effects, get rid of a card with a graveyard cost, or stop a madness trigger. This card could also be your last hail mary if your library has run out and you need to survive one more turn. At the very least, you end up with a 1/1 flying spirit and have removed another counter on Thing in the Ice.

Synergies:Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit + Essence Flux Add a quick +1/+1 to your creature (spirit), or re-activate ability (non spirit) with Essence Flux, then bolster another (or the same) creature with +1/+1Harbinger of the Tides + Topplegeist Return target creature to owners handHarbinger of the Tides + Send to Sleep Return target creature to owners hand

Once you get Thing in the Ice Flipped:The great thing is once it flips, it will send back your other creatures but not any other Thing in the Ice's that haven't yet transformed. You may wonder why I haven't thrown in some trample, easliy making this card more effective. If I can find a card that works well enough with the deck I will consider adding it, but for now, Celestial Flare and Puncturing Light will hopefully help clear your way, in addition to constantly having your opponent tapped out.

Now for a very important card, Narset Transcendent. She starts out with relatively high loyalty, gives CARD DRAW (very important in a deck where you're throwing instants), has an unbelievable -9 that almost gaurentees your win (in this deck style) and can also REBOUND your instant/sorcery spells.

IMPROVEMENTS NEEDED:The biggest weaknesses of this deck are creature cards which have a tap activated ability, (so tapping your opponents out actually benefits them somewat)
