I play tested this. On turn 2, I brought out the Ghostfire Blade. Turn 3, I cast Ensoul Artifact, on the blade, and then equipped itself for 1 mana for a 7/7 attacker. Not sure if that's exactly legal, but I'm giving you an up vote either way... because its genius!

I reaaaaaalllllllyyyyyy think Aqueous Form is useless because all of your creatures already have evasion!!!!

I am rather new to magic so forgive the n00b question but can someone explain to me how all of the creatures already have evasion?

sailboats says... #5

most creatures have evasion but limited to some extent because of cards like Scuttling Doom Engine and Juggernaut. Cards like Ornithopter + Aeronaut Tinkerer are somewhat evasive because they have flying, which can only be blocked by other flying and reach creatures. Hope it helped, Crimson_Jimi

Thanks Merkulon666, Balinor5, Ninjadude51, Crimson_Jimi, and sailboats. I do agree that I should take out some Aqueous Form, but what cards should I replace it with?

One other reason I have it is for the scry. Also, it helps with Darksteel Citadel attacking.

I think you should add Springleaf Drum into the mainboard to replace the Aqueous Form. Springleaf Drum does offer it's fair share of utility in my opinion and could be ensouled, we'll see if the others have a better suggestion to replace Aqueous Form.

I really like making the list U/B and adding Disciple of Deceit to tutor out ensoul and running at least 3 drums. Now a uneeded weaponsmith or future desciple draw becomes an ensoul with your tutor ability on desciple and you can play King Macar, the Gold-Cursed and get double value out of him as his inspired trigger exiles any creature then gives you an artifact named gold you can ensoul. after looking at this list as not a U/R list or the soulblade list U/W I finally realised U/B really is best suited. Maybe splash red for shrapnel just because springleaf allows you to add a small amount of R/U Dual lands and always have red and your getting any color mana while triggering inspired and gold helps too. Aqueous can go because your not running Cloudform

I think that Dance of the Skywise should be find a place into a deck like yours.

@Balinor5 - When you ensoul equipment, it loses the equip ability per the errata

mrweaselman says... #12

Thanks Dusk. I will definitely add it if it's standard and cheap.

Take out Aqueous Form for some Heart-Piercer Bow and Stubborn Denial for Vial of Dragonfire Its a shame to waste Renowned Weaponsmiths ability to tutor in some damege in for the win.

sailboats says... #14

Heart-Piercer Bow and Vial of Dragonfire is kinda useless in this deck. The best use of Renowned Weaponsmith is to use it as a mana resource to fill the board with as many huge creatures as fast as possible. Stubborn Denial is probably one of the best cards in this deck. A one mana counter is too good to be true, it also synergies with it's creatures extremely well. It's true that Heart-Piercer Bow and Vial of Dragonfire can combo with Ensoul Artifact, but it will be a measly 5/5 compared to an ensouled indestructible 5/5 Darksteel Citadel or a flying 5/5 Ornithopter.

This is a really nice deck! Have you tried using Sigiled Starfish instead of Dakra Mystic? Do you think the free scry ability would be more beneficial then the draw of the mystic, or is the mystic much better? The starfish would also be harder to kill then the mystic.

Have you thought about adding a sideboard? I'd recommend Negate, Dragon's Eye Savants, and Singing Bell Strike. Kiora's Dismissal can also be useful.

Thanks Ninjadude51, sailboats, budlaorf, and Meat. I have thought about Heart-Piercer Bow and Vial of Dragonfire. I don't think they are that useful in this deck though. I have not tried using Sigiled Starfish, but it is a good idea and I'll try to add it. I'm not really an expert on making sideboards, so for now I'm not adding one.

March 23, 2015 7:03 p.m.

Maybe add Chief Engineer to help out the larger creatures quicker?

March 26, 2015 6:10 p.m.

mrweaselman says... #19

The_Pizza_Guy98 I used to have Chief Engineer, but I took him out because most of the time he didn't help too much. I replaced him with Renowned Weaponsmith.

March 26, 2015 6:17 p.m.

@mrweaselman Well, I would leave it on the maybeboard as an option for some.

Ever thought to add Ugin, the Spirit Dragon since most of your board survives the -x ability.

mrweaselman says... #23

Caharin I would really like to add Ugin, the Spirit Dragon, but right now he's too expensive. Thanks for the comment though.

Klemma says... #24

Cloudform is OP a lot of the time, giving evasion and protection, it also is colorless while face down so GFB equips for one. Aeronaut Tinkerer is not very good Imo, Silumgar Sorcerer or Illusory Angel are both better maybe even Stratus Dancer

June 23, 2015 1:58 p.m.

mrweaselman says... #25

Thanks for the suggestion Klemma. I replaced Aeronaut Tinkerer with Stratus Dancer.
