Introduction
Momir Vig has invited the lowliest creatures to engage in an experiment that will turn them into legendary commanders over the course of 10 trials.
This quest consists of starting with a small commander and deck of common, low cmc cards, and leveling up your commander and deck through playing games, which gives you access to higher cmcs, more colors, greater rarity, and larger decks.
Momir encourages you to base your deck changes on what happens in the games you play because it's fun :)
The quest culminates in a custom Legendary Commander that you design yourself based on the quest you've gone through and approved by your play group.

Getting Started
Choose a 1 or less cmc, common, non-legendary creature to be your first commander. The color you choose for your creature will be in your color identity for the remainder of the Quest unless something weird happens.
Build a 40 card deck with 1 or less cmc, common cards. Keep in mind most games will be played with lunch commander rules of starting with two basic lands in play, so you don't need a ton of land in your first deck.

Playing Games
Play a game of lunch commander with your Quest deck. Win or lose, you level up! You may want to keep the cards you played in a separate stack at the end of the game, so you can remember what to base your changes on.

Leveling Up
Your deck starts at 40 cards, and increases by 10 each level. At level 1, you can play 1 cmc common spells in a single color identity. When you level up, your allowed cmc increases by 1 at the common level in your starting color, and each cmc below that increases in allowed rarity. Additionally, you unlock a new color identity at 1 cmc common. Any gold spells in your deck must adhere to the limitations of their least common denominator. Your deck size is an exact number. All commanders must be non-legendary. They start as creatures, but perhaps they could be turned into other things along the way, who knows?
Level 10 allows you to create a custom legendary commander based on your quest.
So for instance, at level 3, I will have a 60-card deck consisting of 3 cmc blue commons, 2 cmc blue uncommons, 1 cmc blue rares, 2 cmc black commons, 1 cmc black uncommons, and 1 cmc red commons.
