Had a few of these lying around and wanted to see if I could use the flicker ability to create something that might work in modern.
Please be nice on me, this was an idea late last night, and I wanted to try and do something with Oona and incorporate her and my fairie cards.
Deadeye Navigator and
Nephalia Smuggler
soulbound to AEther Adept and Venser, Shaper Savant allows for instant return to hand mechanics should an opponent put out a creature in their turn. Once this has happened, Appetite for Brains and Distress can be used to remove the creature from their hand and either exile or put into graveyard. Once graveyarded, creatures can be picked up by Puppeteer Clique (again, possibly flickered) and mind controlled/hasted then exiled at the end of my turn.
Sunken Hope
backs up this process and provides another source to force the opponent to remove creatures to hand, but also allows for any of my cards to reset their abilities.
Ghostly Flicker and
Peel from Reality
also give me the ability to save a card and flicker it/return to hand if targetted by a spell, combined with Mana Leak, and
Dissipate
.
Any extra AEther Adept or similar are used to do the same with
Skinrender
or other cards below, allowing me to very quickly reduce stats on an enemy creature.
The use of Sower of Temptation with flicker or return to hand allows for a resetting mind control on a player's creature, should the original mind controlled one die, or another more threatening one enter the battlefield.
Oona, Queen of the Fae provides token faeries to overwhelm whilst the opponent is vulnerable, whilst
Glen Elendra Liege
buffs these 1/1 faeries to 3/3 and all other blue or black cards. An expendable token (I'm aware it doesn't come back into play) can also be used with Mistbind Clique, that can be fake 'flickered' to tap all opponent lands for additional control, without forcing myself to potentially give up a valuable creature.
Vesuvan Shapeshifter allows for clones to be made of anything on the battlefield, so can be used to fill the gap if a creature is destroyed, or an extra is needed.
Temporal Mastery is there because a miracle extra turn couldn't possibly not help in a situation where returning opponent's creatures to hand is happening, or to give Oona another chance to mill their library and push out more tokens to overwhelm and for championing.
I'm aware that this might be very mana costly - obviously it depends on what creature cards the opponent brings out - and have yet to test anything with it, suggestions are welcome.
