a single habgarback for Gudul Lurker, Harbinger of the Tides or Whirler Rogue, probably wouldn't affect the deck speed or play style too much and adds a nice trick, im currently building up a mono blue midrange that ill put up after some playtesting and a little experimenting and itll have Hangarback Walker as a 4 of, i just need to tweek the deck to be able to handle all deck types, will be soon and should be a very capable to handle all deck types, but yeah mono blue for life , Clutch of Currents unfortunately slows you without any benefit to your attackers so it slows you without an immediate benefit, if it was instant speed maybe as a versatile trick, but if you want the force pick up go Disperse, if it's for the awaken it's late game sorcery it's generally slowing without the instant speed benefit, Whirler Rogue fills that place better and covers nicely after a board wipe and doesn't mana screw you after dying, the curve normally works really well to 4 right before the win

oh yeah, Clever Impersonator is a brilliant card, I really like the idea, I love playing the deck. because it's because of all the fun little tricks and nothing would be more of a trickster move than Clever Impersonator, the fact that it allows for you to copy a your own stuff with enter the battlefield triggers is great and the fact that you can play(well copy) Siege Rhino in blue with it then Mirror Mockery it is better, thanks for the support everyone, new deck will be up soon

What about frost walker? I really like the card and I think this would be a good fit for him. I'll try him outin place ofe maybe gudul lurker.

Frost Walker is really a cool card, very strong and scary, his ability scares me off though, I personally prefer the current set of creatures, they are all some of blue's most versatile creatures in standard, a Gudul Lurker packs just as much damage when considered it'll never be stopped, comes out a turn earlier and three can be out on turn 2, it also allows for the deceptive morph(half the current is morph), it's a good Stratus Dancer bluff, that deals a little extra damage guaranteed late game(plus the War Horn boost), also isn't a dead draw against Silumgar, the Drifting Death as it can be played with 2 toughness, War Horn as a 4 of means Gudul Lurker always packs a punch, thanks for suggestion, I hope the Frost Walker works successfully

What is the hydrolash for in the sideboard? Is that one of your aggro side-ins? And what you do you side out for it?

artarka red it means that the artarka's command spread on their tokens does no damage so you only take the three burn damage, it's also really strong against warriors, aggro is become pretty popular at my lgs, against aggro the Scatter to the Winds, 3 Mirror Mockery and 2 Negate(depending on match up usually decides which is out and which is in) go out and the Horribly Awry and Hydrolash come in(I normally only side four of something in if I need that card to have any chance because siding put slows the deck down))

How many land in hand to begin a game? Two enough? Or sometimes even 1?

one is generally only good on the draw with at least two Faerie Miscreant in hand, two is perfect on the draw and not to bad on play, three is ideal for both, four is okay if you have Shorecrasher Elemental or Whirler Rogue in hand, a lot of it is match up dependant, general two/three is safe

Welll I lost abysmally, abzan and atarka red. The only good play both games seemed to be mirror mockery on Whirler Rogue

thanks I'd love to be a wizard, normal abzan is normally not too much of a problem to the deck, artarka red is generally a bad match up the Become Immense + Temur Battle Rage is horrible to deal with did Shorecrasher Elemental not help in either match up?

did you not manage to counter them? haha same here, I was a huge fan of blue devotion, needed to stay blue so built this

+1.
Fantastic list. Brings back some nostalgia of the olden Blue Devotion days.
What's your opinion on Silumgar Sorcerer ? Getting ahead early and trading off for counter play Plus a slightly more damaging flyer seems pretty good.
October 20, 2015 9:35 p.m.
I second Silumgar Sorcerer, having a flash creature that is also a flyer and can exploit something like a thopter or scion seems like a good fit to me, might be a good replacement for Scatter to the winds. increases creature base, flash speed blocker, and you dont really hesitate to keep mana open to counter instead of playing a creature.

I just started playing FNM (casual) a couple of months ago. So far I've done meh.
I'm currently building this deck, just need 11 more cards at this point. I'm really looking forward to trying it! It's something a lot more focused than what I could make out of my limited selection of cards and I hope to turn my W/R stats around a bit. If you wouldn't mind, I have a cheeky little name for it that I think you might like. "Blugro" Because it's blue, it's aggro, and has some "gro" (grow :D) to it with the mega-morph. Plus, the more I look at it the more it grows on me! Anyways, thanks for making this build, I'll be sure to check back once I've completed it and tried it out!

By W/R I meant Win/Loss but I derpped and did Win/Ratio or something. Didn't mean White/Red. I'm currently running a Mono White Lifegain.

@KrazyPyro said that way better than I could ever have possibly worded that.
Honestly, this list is fantastic in all sorts of ways. With a little tweaking and adapting to the meta, this deck could very well hold its own against the majority of decks being played in the "meta" right now.

Would Adding Clutch of currents fit well in this deck? and if i was to slot in a 1 of Hangarback what would you recommend swapping it with?
