Some thoughts.

Maindeck 4x Negate is pretty silly as the meta is creatures out the wazoo currently, so I think 2 Horribly Awry is definitely needed.Shorecrasher puts on the beats, but when I'm getting my ass pressured by abzan i'd rather leave the mana open for counters, I've dropped him to 3 and I'm playing with 2x Clever impersonator.I have a love hate relationship with our one drops, but miscreant + mockery is amazing. No reason to not run 4 mockery, its simply the decks best card. Some curve topping bomb would be cool, but the best I could think of would be Icefall Regent

thanks for all the advice and all the love and hate, the Silumgar Sorcerer seems like it could be just the little bit of the twist the deck needs, ill try it tonight, currently my version is great in my lgs meta, negate is a two mana card that hits planeswalkers and board wipes, boardwipes are seeing a lot more play because of all the creature decks, it's why I was also hesitant to take the Scatter to the Winds out for Horribly Awry

the name blugro I like it thanks, a comment above said blue deck wins, I like that too :) I couldn't take out any one drops the Faerie Miscreant and Gudul Lurker beatdown thing is now a running joke at my store, because once two evasive creatures(mainly one drops) are down with a War Horn you beat you opponent down, Mirror Mockery is one of my all time favorite cards but as a four of its to frequent and slightly slow early game against aggro, Torrent Elemental would also be a decent top curve, working on the mono blue midrange currently and like him

October 21, 2015 3:17 a.m.

Shorecrasher Elemental is the biggest distraction for your opponent, they'll Utter End on him instead of your War Horn, you'll just flicker for one and win next turn, at six mana he can attack and block each turn at more he can do it safely, remember if something doesn't have trample you can block and flicker(flip) and take no damage with Whirler Rogue he's guaranteed damage I like Clever Impersonator a whole lot, but i prefer to beatdown before their nice creatures are out, thanks for the advice will test mainboarding both Horribly Awry and Silumgar Sorcerer

What about Benthic Infiltrator?

October 21, 2015 10:39 p.m.

he's on the higher side of the curve with no immediate bonus and not a lot of power, he'd probably be slowing, Eldrazi Skyspawner would be better

Just a question, do you prefer putting on pressure or keeping mana free for counters / harbingers on turn 3 to 5? I only tested this deck online so far and im not 100% sure how I should play this deck, because after the first few turns the aggro wears really off, especially if they play something with lifelink.

Have you considered splashing green for Assault Formation?

October 22, 2015 11:01 a.m.

it's very dependant on match up Harbinger of the Tides is great for throwing back lifelink attackers and Shorecrasher Elemental can declare block and flip and no damage will be dealt, you have play so carefully against lifelink, deciding speed is very careful, generally it's side in the Horribly Awry to counter when they try replay it normally, it's very match up and card dependant

Did you ever consider splashing ? If so some things that would be good to add into the deck are Dragonlord Ojutai, Ojutai's Command (which works really well with Harbinger of the Tides), Valorous Stance and Silkwrap.

First off, maybe anticipate to control the draw, get more cards but im probably wrong, also, holy SH*T I LOVE THIS DECK. I'm gonna build it, take it to FNM, and tell you how it went.

So ignorant clarification here, with shorecrasher elemental I can block a creature with the same or higher power and toughness and pump him up accordingly then to avoid him dying in response to me blocking i exile and return him face down? I built this deck with a couple slight variants but and having some trouble in this aspect.

Nakroma says... #14

jrschnoebelen what? You either pump him up or exile him, not both.

StUrzasBeard says... #15

jrschnoebelen,If you were to do that, shorecrasher would leave the bf prior to dealing damage. Both attacking and blocking creatures deal damage at the same time.

I really love to play mono blue - that's why I love this real nice budget deck, well done! I bought it on MTGO and it is really successful!! +1

October 23, 2015 9:59 a.m.

thanks for all the advice and love, to clarify Shorecrasher Elemental, he can be declared blocker and pumped to kill and/or survive or he can just block and flicker and no damage will be dealt, yes I have considered splashing green for Assault Formation, especially using Shorecrasher Elemental because there's no limit on pumping his toughness besides the mana would probably run a few Eldrazi with that too, at izzetgod, personally I am very against the white and also mainstream meta cards, it's why I'm a huge fan of mono blue, they probably would work effectively but I'd rather stay mono blue, I'd wanna run anticipate myself but have trouble figuring what to take out without slowing our creatures and answers, thanks everyone

What do you mean by flicker?

October 23, 2015 1:30 p.m.

exile and return to the battlefield (morphed), it's dubbed flickering or blinking

If I already own 2 jace's, is there a place for ihm in this deck somewhere?

Hey, since Ive been only pulling Prairie Streams lately, I think the magic universe is trying to tell me something. So I like this deck, what do you think about splashing white?Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit looks interesting. It doesn't slow you down that much and gives your small creatures +1/+1.Or Secure the Wastes, altough that probably is really slow, but with warhorn out.. mhm.Dragon Hunter or the whole array of white removal?

October 24, 2015 1:38 p.m.

jace unfortunately doesn't fit the aggro shell without burn, Anafenza, Kin-Tree Spirit would actually be really affective aside from the double white devotion, the deck has almost a white weenie feel with War Horn, Secure the Wastes adds a lot of power especially with War Horn out, Valorous Stance adds some nice protection and removal and Feat of Resistance is really good too

made top 8 today at gamesday which was awesome unfortunately knocked out straight after the swiss

Congrats!!!! I'm taking it to game day too. Any words of advice? Don't rush the deck and sideboard effectively against aggro are the top two points of order for me. I'm in Hawaii so it's not for another 1.5 hours.
