The deck focuses on getting Grist, the Hunger Tide on the battlefield as early as possible while protecting itself with the Insect Tokens created via their +1. These Insect Tokens paired with other creatures that are not milled will be both offense and defense as necessary. Once the graveyard is full of insects; Loyalty and Insect Tokens can be pumped with cards such as Forever Young , Bone Harvest , Footbottom Feast , and Gravepurge .
Win Conditions for this deck are as follows:
- Grist, the Hunger Tide -5 to deal damage to all players equal to the number of creatures in the graveyard
- Swing wide with End-Raze Forerunners and/or Beastmaster Ascension
- Flash out Mortal Combat with Emergence Zone
